I have already stipulated that this is true, so i don't know why you think repeating it is somehow significant

Just because you think it was taking too long you can't just change the law.
    No law was changed.

So now, the problem isn't all the undocumented aliens; the problem is selective enforcement.

IMO, selective enforcement is A Good Thing and it happens every day in all areas of the law.

I hardly think that was intended by any power given to the POTUS,
I would argue that the fact that Congress voted for a law which explicitly gives him that power proves that it is exactly what was intended.

and it makes any debate about immigration policy pretty much pointless, if the POTUS is going to simply enforce what he wants to. This is the kind of stuff impeachments are made from.
No, it's not pointless. If Congress wants to, they can pass a law which revokes this power

And I encourage every republican and right winger to call for impeachment.

I can't speak of what happens whether an illegal is arrested for committing a crime - here meaning something other than being in the country illegally. I would assume they're arrested and dealt with by the local police but I really don't know.

What I do know is that the president - any president - is well within his authority to manage his resources as he sees fit.

It is. It's a problem of a bloated Federal system. At this stage of the game we probably can't hire enough federal cops and judges to deal with what would happen if we decided to actually prosecute everyone who breaks federal law. I also guess we'd have a revolution on our hands if we did.

It was alway the intention. Every executive, be it POTUD, a governor a mayor a police chief whatever has the power to determine priorities and allocate resources to meet those priorities. It has always been that way.

Well, if POTUS doesn't enforce it because we don't have the resources, that's once thing. Not enforcing it because it runs counter to political beliefs? I wonder what would happen if the president started to quit enforcing those pesky laws related to civil rights?

    I'm glad we agree...

    No law was changed.
Then tell me why Obama said this:

Obama to immigration hecklers: "I just took an action to change the law”

I agree the system is bloated, and I'll even go one further and say it doesn't matter which political party is in there concerning this subject because BOTH parties have had a hand in building the system to what it is...What I see as the problem, is that we are approaching, if not there already, a time where anyone, at any time can be stopped by Federal authorities, and taken off the streets, only to have charges thought up later, because after all we all have broken some statute without possibly even knowing it...Great tool for getting rid of political enemies in a burgeoning authoritarian society....

I agree and unfortunately think we're already there.
