    I disagree. They didn't just break the law, they continue to do so as long as they are here on our soil. Mitigating circumstances are already covered by law, it's called refugee status. These do not qualify.

    I do think there's a large difference between saying something is going to cause a mid term victory and saying it will give them a chance to win.

    The problem is that determining who are the refugees and who are the illiegals is made difficult by the fact that many refugees cross the border illiegally.

    Neither of your examples quote anyone, of any political persuasion "crowing" that the shutdown would cause the dems to take the House. In fact, the second link says absolutely nothing about the upcoming election

    On topic, the illegal. If the rest of the family are legal, then they have a choice to stay or go. If just the minor child is legal, they are all deported as a family and the citizen minor may apply for reentry with full citizenship when they turn 16.
