Russia is only slightly behind the US in the arms market and they are closer by. Turkey has options. The US not so much

Well, they might be important if Turkey allowed us to use them for anything important. Since they don't, they are useless. As is Turkey as an ally. Our best bet would be to arm the Kurds to the teeth.

You DON'T piss off the guy that supplies your military. As a general rule.
Nor do you piss off the country that has given you Billions of dollars in aid. It's time to end that nonsense. The Turkish airbases are useless.

The Turkish government is Islamic, and a large contingent of Turkish people are secular, so we've been seeing these clashes become more and more unstable.

The current Turkish government has been more and more vocal in its displeasure with the US, so to see an avowed enemy of that government seek out US military members for a scripted and organized attack is frankly concerning to me. If the Islamic government is hostile to the US and the secular opponents of that government are also hostile to us, this does not bode well for our military in particular and NATO in general.
I think NATO is due for a major re-structuring. First, I'd get rid of all those countries that don't pay their share. Then I'd get rid of those countries that figure NATO is a one way street - they want protection but aren't willing to offer any themselves. NATO is not a social club. It's a military alliance. If this gets us down to four or five countries, so be it. Better four or five you can rely on than thirty that you can't.

Do you have links to stories about US servicemen being attacked in US airports? I haven't heard of any incidents.

Works for me. I'm sure Russia and China would gladly supply a NATO member with their latest technology. Hell, the Russians didn't even do that for the Warsaw Pact countries. And we all saw how well the weapons supplied by the Russians to Saddam Hussein worked.

Now you're just being silly. The notion that the US is dependent on Turkey to a greater extent than they are on us flies in the face of logic. We don't need Turkey. They do need us.

The Turks murdered 1 million Armenians, so yes, the notion can be refuted.
