(CNN) -- He's enemy No. 1 in the fight against ISIS. But after waves of airstrikes by both Iraq and U.S.-led coalition forces, questions abound over whether the terror group's leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi,was hit.Iraq's minister of defense, Khaled al-Obeidi, said on Facebook that al-Baghdadi was wounded in airstrikes in Mosul on Friday night and that his deputy, Musallam al-Turkmani, was killed.
But Iraq's Interior Ministry said the Iraqi air force wounded al-Baghdadi in an airstrike Saturday not in Mosul, but in the Iraqi town of al-Qaim.
A spokesman for Iraq's Prime Minister told CNN that his office is still waiting to hear from coalition forces and can't confirm anything at this point.

A lot of unclear information. Some saying Al-Baghdadi is injured, some say he is fine, but one thing that seems to be clear is that one AL-Baghdadi's assistants has been severely injured/killed. Im guessing Al-Baghdadi is not dead.
 
don't know if he's dead, or injured. or not. Not much "chatter" if he is. Daesh goes on with or without him - but killing Baghdadi has to be a blow.
At minimum the "caliph Ibrihim" glitz would not be there. I'm sure Zawahiri would like him dead.

Daesh has been getting whacked pretty good as of late -Kobane is a killing zone for them ( thanks to the peshmerga ),
while Iraqi army ( Shia militias?) open the road north from Baghdad to Mosul.

Yep.....the one who was sent from AQAP. Who was working inside Syria with Al Nusra and ISIS.

part of the Khorasan group if I recall. I'm starting to think this supposed schism between AQ and Daesh isn't that much of a break.
For sure Zawahiri and Baghdadi have had their differences, but AQ affiliates (AQAP/AQIM, etc.) have been calling for more unity of purpose..
Especially al_Nusra and Khorasan for ex. Just my impressions though, I have no way of knowing..

Personally, I think the Terrorists are playing off the Western media's reports that there is a feud going on with AQ and ISIS. While at the same time al Nusra is made up with a lot of European and Western Fighters.

One cannot forget the MS Media is driven by liberal concept. So they do tend to get a lot wrong once they start that guesstimating Bull****.
 
Not a very glamorous end, getting your car set on fire, and you with it. One report I saw said the driver had lost a leg and was not expected to live. That struck me odd, because it makes no sense to go after an important target and not use a weapon strong enough to make very sure of the job. A Hellfire is powerful enough to blow a car and everything in it to pieces--no one within quite a few yards of the explosion would have any chance of surviving. That suggests some smaller rocket was used, and that's hard to figure. The video shows what seems to be an intact vehicle engulfed in flames. If they'd used a 500-lb. bomb, the scraps wouldn't have been big enough even for the local dogs to find--assuming they'd eat such rotten meat.
