The divisive racial and gender politics that Dems love to play isn't working any more. White males are kind of sick of tired of it and it showed!!

Seems like this thread is doing a lot of celebrating of her color and the fact Republicans voted in someone of her color. I guess race only matters if you can spin it positively?

Last I checked this thread put her race and gender front and center

She is a positive no matter what her color. Having Blacks serve in government is nothing new for the Republican party.

It IS good. Love offers a different perspective. Now that she's elected, the Republican party will be forced to come to terms with differing perspectives.

I agree...it's a great thing. Tim Scott and her are just a start though to actually make an impact in Republican politics. There seems to be a lot of spiking the football while it's only the first drive....

For the GOP — a house divided that faces significant demographic hurdles to winning the White House in 2016 even as it celebrates President Obama’s shellacking — this was huge. A party threatened with electoral extinction among African Americans and immigrants now has someone to brag about in Washington. In a wave election less about fresh Republican ideas than fervid disapproval of all things presidential, Love’s compelling personal story is an oasis. She’s not just a black face in what’s often described as a party full of angry old white men. She’s a path forward.

Good for her. I've followed her for a while now. The daughter of Haitian immigrants.

So much for all Republicans being racist and sexist.
Congratulations to Mia Love. Good for her!

I hope they don't expect too much from her too quickly. She still needs time to learn and grow.

Blame Yahoo for that. It's their article.

And of course we all know that no other politicians' race and gender has ever been the topic of a news article or mentioned by anyone, right?
