no, the 81-82 recession was much worse compounded by a 20 plus misery index with record high interest rates. The further we get away from that recession the more revisionist history about this recession

Reagan had the leadership skills Obama will never have and can only dream about

So, conservatives believe it was only the second worst recession since the great depression?

Don't know how bad it was as it didn't affect me or my family at all. The 81-82 recession affected every American

Lucky you. You didn't wind up with a house underwater, and/or lose your job.

Nope and apparently neither did you but then again I live in TX. The 81-82 recession was a double dip and was compounded by high interest rates and high inflation. Every American suffered

Didn't affect me. I was in high school, and neither of my parents lost their jobs. The inflation actually made it a little easier for them to pay down debt, the debt payment was fixed, but they were getting large COL raises every six months.

It's only a recession if it affects your neighbor, because if it effected you, then you would be calling it a depression.

Interest rates affected home ownership, credit card debt, and unemployment compounded the problem. Compared to this recession it was a depression.

The Reagan Administration did horribly mishandle our economy and turned a recession into a depression. I see your point.

You are right, 17 million jobs, doubling of GDP, 60% increase in govt. FIT revenue, and a peace dividend and he won 49 states in 84 election
