Math is forbidding for Democrats in struggle for Senate

Couldn't have said it better myself - this will probably be the echo coming from the Senate chamber on Wednesday morning.

I wish he'd just leave permanently.

I hate to burst your bubble, but I am anyway. Mitch is just as much an ass as Harry "Jackass" Reid. They are both blowhards and I doubt highly we are going to like what comes out of the Senate if anything. The rumblings already are not good. Don't get me wrong I like that Harry is not Majority leader. I am just saying that in all probability its gona be a "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss." scenario. I have been known to be wrong though.

No bubble to burst here. I don't like ole Mitch either. I hope that doesn't disappoint you.

There's no guarantee that he will survive as Majority Leader if the GOP takes the Senate. In fact, I hope that he doesn't. We need a person in that position that can cross the isle and get things done. Not a person that will completely give up their principles, but at least a person that understands the definition of compromise.

Cool to hear Teddy Cruz say he may not support Mitch. There's always a silver lining and this assclown car should be a riot for two years plus the morons in the GOP Presidential plus the (far worse than the) do nothing Congress of Truman. The echo in the House is already "impeach" .

Let's see what happens before we condemn an entire party NIMBY.

The echo you hear regarding Impeachment is from a loud but small group. I wouldn't concern myself with it if I were you.

If calm heads prevail (which is not guaranteed either) then the action will be for Obama to either sign the bills or veto them, that the GOP held House and Senate put on his desk.

At that time, we will see who is the real obstructionist. So far, Obama has had ole Harry to do it for him in the Senate - now he may not have that hedge to hide behind.

Edit: and as for Ted Cruz, I pay more attention to kids in a kindergarten class than I do about what he says.

We had a chance to do that last election. But... the GOP nominated a person to run against him that was, well...

If she couldn't beat him in that election climate, she could never win anytime. I feel that the next time he comes up for re-election the GOP will get a better candidate, and, he will be calling a moving company.

You're a great GOP Beau, one who I respect for not running from your positive, centrist GOP brand. I hate Reid and hope Schumer gets Minority Leader if that is to be. You know how much I support Durbin in spite of your feelings--he's been a leader of the gangs of 14 with good GOPs like Portman, Collins and Alexander.

It's laughable to hear anti-Reid "independents" who've been silent on McConnell now trashing McConnell--who I want to do great things if he's Majority Leader .

Sir NIMBY speaks of two very good GOP governors who will win landslides--Kasich in OH and Sandoval in NV. A Kasich/Sandoval ticket would be formidable in 2016. Don't forget the "Adelson" summit in Vegas--Kasich was one of 4 invited govs though he did perform poorly .

Thanks for the kind words. My position on Durbin has to do with my personal dealings with him during disasters. He plays politics and can lie better than most I've ever seen. Yes, he has been in the room for many isle crossing groups, like the Gang of 12/14, or whatever they called themselves at the time. I have a hard time believing that the guy I know personally, is any different in those meetings than he was when he killed aid to certain communities based solely on politics given that those communities were of a different party.

I think a lot of Kasich, but don't know that much about Sandoval. Another governor from that area though (Utah), would make a great President. Jon Huntsman
