Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans[W:466]

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

That exactly what you are infering. You claim that the GOP doesn't offer anything to black folks. The only thing the Democrats offer is more government assistance. Obviously, you believe blacks require that assistance, because they can't make it on their own.
Wait....the only thing a government representative has to offer...is government (legal rights and protections, financial and job assist, etc..) assistance?

That is a truism if ever there was.

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

You are going in circles and avoiding the thing you demanded...REASON.

Again, are you going to keep on denying that SOME in the GOP want to suppress Black votes and believe that Blacks are inferior?
Let me give you a little advice. Its OK to say something to the effect of: You know, what Charlie Rangle said wasn't right. It would be nice, just once, for you to actually not make a mockery of your screen name and actually give us some truth. I am not expecting it of course, and the shock of actually seeing it happen might be too much to handle.

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

The unemployment rate among blacks is at 35%. What are the Democrats doing for blacks that is so wonderful?

Nobody is doing anything for anyone right now. Our current congressional makeup is basically incapable of accomplishing anything.

That said, you seem to expect the black community to dump the Democrats for a party that has shown virtually zero affinity for it. The Republicans have done virtually nothing but alienate black voters for 40 years.

Carefull, according to jmac....it is racist to ask that question.

I don't often agree with you Kobie, but every thing you said here is true.

Why do you keep on avoiding the question?

The question is: Are you going to keep denying that some in the GOP want to repress the Black vote and feel that Blacks are inferior?

You wanted a reason for what Rangel said, but you keep on avoiding reason. Your statements are hypocritical.

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

What, exactly, does the GOP do for black folks?

Tries to slow the ever increasing gov't spending used to treat the symptoms of social, educational and economic failure and tries create an environment more conducive to social, educational and economic success. With all of the talk about the root causes of poverty we seem to do little, if anything, to address them.

If you agree that the Republicans have done virtually nothing but alienate black voters for 40 years, how can you reject that some of them have tried to suppress their vote?

Let's see some examples.

I have seen very little indication that the GOP attempts to do any of these things.

I am not avoiding anything. I think what he said is nothing but a race baiting load of crap. But I also understand that whenever a democrat opens his or her mouth and says something stupid, you will be there to defend it. You have gone from Clinton to Landrieu to Rangel and defended each of their stupid statements to the best of your ability. For some reason you think acknowledging a failure in a democrat brings your entire ideology crashing in around you, but I am pretty sure that wont happen. Just so you know, Obama said today that Stalin was one of the great leaders of the 20th century. I look forward to your defense of that as well. If nothing else, you are entertaining.

What, exactly, is the GOP supposed to be doing for black people?

Perhaps it is a dictionary that you lack. Google slavery. Google suppressing the vote. Then google how to make an honest and rational argument.

You can tell this how? Their opposoition to yet another hugge means tested entitlement and mandate for employer provided medical care insurance? The death of many bills passed by the House that never see the Senate floor?

How has the GOP alienated black voters?

The Democrats sure as hell haven't.

The root cause of poverty...is insufficient income. If you cut income ("welfare") while destroying your industrial base, the influence of workers on wages (which have been GOP objectives)...I would say that the GOP has been addressing them.....negatively.

You just refuse to read:

What..now you are going to argue that Blacks did vote and that they were viewed as equals...under slavery?

Yes you are, you will not answer:

Are you going to keep denying that some in the GOP want to repress the Black vote and feel that Blacks are inferior?

You have avoided it, you continue to avoid it.

Because I've been paying attention for 30+ years.

LOL that's not what I am arguing and you know it. Why cant you just be honest. Is that really so difficult for you?

So if blacks had their vote suppressed during slavery, and now there are GOP members who want the black vote suppressed, how are they acting as if slavery ended?

Care to back that up? I doubt it.

Ah, you too are going to deny that GOP have not worked to suppress the black vote.
