Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans[W:466]

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

The funniest thing about Landieu's comments is that she is trying to blame her failing campaign on sexism when she is the incumbent.

The current governer is Indian--first generation American. The previous governer was a woman.

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

Pathetic racebaiting from a desperate and pathetic person.

Desperate and repugnant antics didn't help Wendy Davis much in Texas; they won't help Mary Landrieu in Louisiana.

Please point out any part of her statement that wasn't fact.......

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

Boy did she step in it this time. Hasn't she noticed the skin color of her own governor the good people of Louisianna voted for twice?

Yet she is calling her own constituents racists? What an idiot.

Edit- I forgot to mention Governor Blanco, the female governor the good people of Louisiana voted into office prior to Jindal. Guess her sexist comments don't hold up either.

You do realize that Jindal is not black right?

She stated "I'll be very, very honest with you. The South has not always been the friendliest place for African-Americans."

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

Anybody who doesn't realize that Landrieu's remarks were made because she may just lose her race isn't paying attention.

I agree with Governor Jindal that Landrieu was speaking divisively here and add that it was for the most transparently self-serving and desperate of reasons.

Obama's not running; she is. Let's see if she can outrun the criticism.

She's been a PoS from the start, including during Katrina.

Liberals have effectively brainwashed black Americans into the most non-thinking group in the US today. It's as if they want to perpetuate slavery in another form. It's a sad fact.

We're trying to explain this, but they won't listen. And they don't realize that there is ZERO power in voting lockstep, 95-5, on everything. You can't progress if you can't even debate amongst yourselves.

Minorities keep moving forward at a remarkable clip.....except for black Americans. They're stuck in the middle of nowhere, deteriorating from within, with no promise of better because they continue to vote for their own demise.

Many conservative black leaders are trying to change this, so maybe there's hope. It's just so frustrating and sad to watch.

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

What, other than her southern racism, could possibly explain why she personally disagrees with Obama policy? ;)

Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) told NBC’s Chuck Todd today that President Obama is having a hard time in her state of Louisiana because the South isn’t exactly the friendliest place to African-Americans. Landrieu went down a laundry list of reasons Obama isn’t popular in Louisiana, starting with energy policy and how “furious” people in her state were about Obama placing a moratorium on offshore drilling.

But then the Louisiana senator threw out this reason as well: “To be very, very honest with you, the South has not always been the friendliest place to African-Americans. It’s been a difficult time for the president to present himself in a positive light as a leader. It’s not always been a good place for women to be able to present ourselves, it’s more of a conservative place.” .....snip~

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

Please point out any part of her statement that wasn't fact.......

The question was about Obama's popularity in polling data.

Her answer was to play the race card.

That is not a "fact," that is racebaiting for the sake of divisive identity politics.

It is a fact that the president revels in this kind of racial rhetoric and it is not surprising that his lackeys do the same.

The good news is... it's an old trick now. It's not working anymore.

THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT ONE OF THE MOST IGNORANT POST I'VE READ !!!!

Your ignorance of the black community is saddening. In case you haven't notice, Republicans did sh***y with Hispanics and hell even Asians. You want to make this personal fine. But stop going to those "rallies" and do some true research.

Matter of fact, just don't say s*** to me !!!!!

But that was part of the answer. She first stated that his energy policies and then the obvious leads to his unpopularity in the south. Why are you hiding from the fact that the south still has a race issue. Do you think the average white voter in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama don't look at his race as a factor as well?

Lets not kid ourselves

The truth often hurts. I understand.

Many blacks don't even think it's possible for blacks to be racist toward white people. There's a HUGE problem in the discussion right there. Racism is only possible in one direction, I've heard it said multiple times.

And I'll add this. White people are FAR more accepting toward the black community than what Hispanics and Asians are. There is some deeply seeded hatred coming from there. And they don't hide it. But of course, that doesn't fit the liberal narrative.

Democrats aren't interested in changing this dynamic because without that 95-5, they can't win anything.

You do realize for your comments to be 100% factual, that the majority of blacks have to be completely gullible and unintelligent then. Might want to re-think your post there cause you're sounding a bit racist insulting the majority of black people.

Exactly, he don't even realize that he insulted us in a very racist way. That the problem with many on the right.

Hey I'm not the one denying racism in the south

Jindal is considered a man of color. Certainly not white. which makes Ms. Mary's comments about Louisiana absurd. In fact her dang comments reek of ignorance to claim the South has not always been a friendliest place for African-Americans when it was the doings of the Dixiecrats members of her own party that made it so. In fact, the first Black members to ever serve in Congress were from the South! And they were all Republicans!

Oh boy where do I begin.

I grew up in LA, and yes I agree, there is some heat between blacks and hispanics. However, you don't understand the reason. Majority of the heat stems from gang warfare and control of drug distribution. This all started in prison. Right now, its more about being the top minority. Asians are a different story. We have a good relationship with each other due to the economic benefits. In the inner city, Asian businesses strives on the black dollar. And we benefit from their product.

And let me say this, nobody said all whites are racist. I said that what she said is true in the south. There is still racial tension between blacks and whites. You can't ignore that fact. And its not just blacks who think the south is racist. Many whites on the west and the north regions agrees with that as well.

WTH? I'm not making any claim that the abuse to blacks did not occur. So why did you only bolden the print in part of sentence? Do you have the same problem not being honest as Ms. Mary? Or did you just now learn that the Dixiecrats were the racists and belonged to the Democrat party that caused the suffering on Blacks and that the first Blacks elected to Congress were from the South and all Republicans. Which is it?

I've traveled this country for years, and by far the most racial tension I've found is in Boston, Massachusetts.

Oh so black people are more succeptable to brainwashing according to you, got it. Yea that sounds SOO much better

You just keep on digging your hole there. :lamo

He's not white. Kathy Blanco isn't an old white guy. Mary Landrieau is a 3 term incumbant and she isn't an old white guy.

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

Some people in the GOP can't deal with the truth. But in the future the truth will deal with the GOP.

'What goes around, comes around." No one can stop time, and/or change.

When a Democrat uses race to either promote themselves or explain themselves, it's apparently speaking "truth". When a Republican or anyone else speaks truth about black youth and violence, Democrats claim it's the worst form of racism.

No need to wonder why race will always be an issue in America - as long as Democrats and the left exist, there will always be racism.
