That is simply not true. Nobody....rich middle class or poor is disenfranchised by having to show a valid ID card to vote. And do not try the "It's too expensive" argument. ID is free to the poor in most states and in those where it is not.......it cost less then the poor spend in one week on vices such as tobacco products and booze.

Do I have to repeat this ****ing argument again?

I don't care if the ID costs five goddamn cents. If you charge for it, and it's required to vote, then it is a poll tax, period, end of discussion.

Do states not require photo IDs to get welfare anymore?

But I agree with you on the need for a national ID card. We should revamp the Social Security card and green card system into a single ID that was color coded for easy recognition. Make it a requirement for voting, collecting benefits and work authorization screening.

Hell if I know. Not every poor person is on welfare.

and then we have the candid admission by Republican Mike Turzai the leader of the Pennsylvania House in 2012

Pennsylvania state House Republican leader Mike Turzai said this weekend that the state’s new voter ID law will “allow” Mitt Romney to win the state in November, according to a report.
“Pro-Second Amendment? The Castle Doctrine, it’s done. First pro-life legislation – abortion facility regulations – in 22 years, done. Voter ID, which is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania, done,” Turzai said at Saturday’s Republican State Committee meeting, according to PoliticsPA.com.

People can deny the political agenda until the cows come home but there you have a Republican leader in the Pennsylvania House admitting that voter ID was the ticket to what he thought would be a game changer for his party.

The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

    Greetings, mac.

That's what I've always understood, but who knows? I can't imagine what trouble I'd be in if I tried to vote in another country, but this is America where some people have difficulty proving who they are, so we have to make exceptions for them, I guess.

Again...simply not true. Valid ID is already something that is required for such things as driving a car, opening a bank account, cashing a check, etc. It's not like people are just suddenly faced with obtaining an ID to vote. Unless they live a nomadic cave like existence, they already have an ID. Voters are not being charged a cent to vote. They are merely expected to show something they already have. The left's reluctance to accept the concept of voter ID laws is patently dishonest.

Yes, in the same way you believe that not requiring positive identification of the voter helped Obama win Pennsylvania in 2012.
