Some voter I.d bills require a birth cirtificate. That seems a tad exxcessive.

Well, for starters, requiring an ID isn't disenfranchisement in and of itself. Requiring an ID and then making said ID onerous and/or cost prohibitive is disenfranchisement, as I've previously stated.

As far as the firearm argument, which I could literally not care less about, I suppose that voting and yay guns should be held to similar ID standards -- a free national ID card could solve both problems.

Because it's a Democratic constituency -- the poor -- that would be most negatively affected by them.

From what I've seen, they require it in the absence of any other ID.

Passport, maybe.....library card, college ID card, workplace ID card....NO. You do not have to be a citizen to get a library card, a college ID card, or a workplace ID card.

No, more like Republicans bad, Democrats far worse.

Good, I agree. So, you are in support of voter ID then, assuming the ID is free?

nothing personal, but when folks like you hit the level of a real movement that changes the political demographics you will be more than just an anomaly and then and only then will that make a difference. For now, Black ID with the Democratic party has never been stronger so you are bucking a very heavy tide.

I agree that some of those issues are not specific to Blacks. However, others are split on them where Blacks are not so much on those issues.
