They absolutely should. That's been my position on voter ID from day one.

upper crust has nothing to do with it. there are plenty of rich hillbillies: ever been to a NASCAR race?

People who don't pay taxes shouldn't be voting up the rates of those of us who do.

those who don't put anything in the pot shouldn't have an equal say on how its divided with contributors

If I ran things it would be impossible for one group to vote to loot another mans pocket. If the state lacked the power to violate the rights of the individual, it wouldn't matter to me who voted. Or how many times

But that's the dilemma for the wealthy when so few have so much. They're always at the mercy of the majority. Since fewer than half pay *any* federal taxes, the majority is usually content with that part of the equation, but they always see roads, bridges and schools crumbling around them. Do you the expect the majority to willingly start paying fed taxes, or force the rich to pay more?

In my state the repubs keep calling for higher sales tax, but that strikes me as a hopelessly outdated method.

Well, owning a firearm is a right, too. Not too many people mind that right being somewhat...regulated....why should the right to vote be any different?

    People can vote by mail.
    Repeatedly.

So, you're in favor of the NC voter ID law?

The right to vote is already "somewhat regulated."

The accepted forms of ID, at first glance (I really don't have time to dig into it now), seem reasonable.
