Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans[W:466]

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

Some people in the GOP can't deal with the truth. But in the future the truth will deal with the GOP.

'What goes around, comes around." No one can stop time, and/or change.

What truth is that?

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

Republicans are calling on Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu to apologize after she suggested Thursday that President Obama's deep unpopularity in the South is partly tied to race.

Anyone in the GOP who doesn't recognize the fact that the GOP has close to zero support from Blacks in the USA Is out of touch with reality

Does anyone have any idea why so few Blacks support the GOP/

"Better days are coming." ~ But not for today's out of touch, running out of time, GOP

I guess I'm not following - what was it that she said that was wrong?

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

Anybody who doesn't realize that Landrieu's remarks were made because she may just lose her race isn't paying attention.

I agree with Governor Jindal that Landrieu was speaking divisively here and add that it was for the most transparently self-serving and desperate of reasons.

Obama's not running; she is. Let's see if she can outrun the criticism.

Except of course she was right.

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

Landrieu is desperate.

And she didn't limit her remarks to African-Americans; she also said that in the past women in the South had to struggle too.
They're both accurate statements  Women's rights were notoriously sluggish to spread to the south, namely the right to vote. A case of political correctness perhaps.. on the right :gasp:

That the south has and continues to struggle with racism to a greater degree than the rest of the country.

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

When you're paranoid about racism.... you'll magically start seeing it everywhere, even where it's not. The south is down to earth, and no more or less racist than any other place if we are talking about the mainstream people you'll be interacting with.
That's just not supported by polling data pertaining to interracial marriage and race relations in general.

You realize Jim Crow and segregation were a Democrat creation right ?

And it was the Democrats who filibustered the 1964 voting rights act.

And no they weren't " Conservative " or " Dixiecrats "

They were the same party that led to the creation of places like Cabrini Green, Robert Taylor Homes and South Side Chicago and Detroit.

Modern day slavery under the guise of " equality " care of Barack Obama and the modern day progressives.

 Oh boy. Let's all pretend that nothing has happened between then and now. What a tired and sorry spiel.

Only when its election time !!

Places like Detroit, South side of Chicago and every other poverty striken area are ignored as this " Southern racist " narrative is pushed.

Liberals are bigots. They hate Southerners. They have to have a, "boogie man". Hitler had to have a boogie man, too.

So, where do you live?

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

They're brainwashed, not stupid.

Your blatantly racist post supports Landrieu's quote.

Re: Sen. Landrieu's remarks on race anger Republicans

Are you seriously going to argue that racism was/is less prevalent in the South...and you believe that instances in the North proves this?

All you are doing is proving that racists exist everywhere (no one denies) and not showing the LEVEL of racism.

Yea they are !

And they STILL want to control and oppress the minority population in America.

Not much has changed really. They're just not as open as they used to be when the Filibustered the 1964 voting rights act.

What I'm doing, is oointing out that racism isn't exckusive to the South, as you people believe.

Leftists can only prove their worth if there's a crisis.

That wasn't the argument, you did not read anything posted and are now engaged in pure straw argument.

This is the argument, try READING:

Again, no one has argued racism is exclusive to the South, the argument is the LEVEL and PERSISTENCE of the racism in the South. You changed the argument because you cannot win the argument and you realized from the start.

Gawd, I hate arguing with folks that won't read.

I have conflicted thoughts about this. One the one hand, she is right. On the other hand, she's somewhat perpetuating the myth that racism is only a problem for white Southerners and Republicans. It is not. It is very much a problem among white liberals as well.
