If you guys could actually approach the subject with a shred of intellectual honesty, you'd know that's not what anyone is arguing. In fact, nobody is arguing against the concept of voter ID ... however, when said ID is expensive (many states have not made provisions for free ID, which it should be if you need it to vote) and more difficult to obtain for poor people, it becomes a de facto poll tax.

really? what evidence do you have? I was D I varsity coach at an IVY-I had to deal with the admissions office

and your comments about "ivy" is hardly on topic

the fact is-for years, blacks have voted for Dems and the Dems have done almost nothing for blacks. Dems take the blacks fro granted

so are you against people having to show an ID to buy a firearm too?

is it a poll tax to force people to get themselves to the poll. Its a hour walk from where I live meaning I need car And no, there is no bus service to speak of

Jesus ****ing Christ on a Cracker, do you read? I JUST SAID I'm not against people showing an ID to vote, as long as the ID is reasonably obtainable, which for many otherwise legal voters, it's not. And the argument that "well, everyone should have an ID" holds no water. It doesn't matter. Voting is a right, period, and if the requirement to exercise that right becomes a serious impediment, then that needs to be taken into consideration before making it a requirement.

God forbid we have one thread where you don't try to make everything about your precious guns.

No more than it's a "gun tax" to "force" people to go to a gun dealer to buy a gun.

    People can vote by mail.

But you have to make everything about your precious ****ing guns.

I agree it should be free but honestly, I don't care: anyone who doesn't have an ID is probably someone I don't really want voting

I don't give two shiny turds if you want them voting or not. If there is no legal reason they shouldn't be allowed to vote, then they have that right.

You don't want them voting because they don't vote for Republicans. And you wonder why people claim that certain voter ID laws are a means to keep Democratic constituencies (read: poor and largely minority) away from the polls. Thank you, you just made my argument for me better than I ever could. Keep up the good work.

If I ran things only net taxpayers could vote in federal elections.

If photo IDs are required to vote then the state should issue them free of charge if necessary to those that don't have one. There is no reason to oppose that.

Well, you don't. But your disdain for those who aren't upper crust is well established.
