tell me something, has the metaphorical red flag been risen, or has it always been nailed onto the mast of the conservative ship?

and in case you do not understand what i meant, the red flag harkens back to the era of pirates, and the sight of a dark red flag would make any sailor fear for his life. if a pirate ship was flying the red flag it meant that there would be no quarter or mercy given to those unfortunate enough to caught by a pirate ship flying the red flag.

Actually, one the biggest causes of the shift before WWII was Hoover's handling of the 1927 floods. I can link back to this discussion if you need more info.

I never thought of that. Hoover also blew it with his initial handling of the depression. But thank you.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

Oh, I see, if a Dem talks about racists actions by the GOP......that is a Dem "creating racism".

In other words, Mary Landrieu creates racism by saying Blacks have had a hard time in the South.

Thanks, but it takes more than luck to live to a great age-my paternal great-grandmother lived to 105-years of age and I'm in excellent health and see no reason why I can't live at least that long.

I miss the old days when elections were about ideas, visions, solutions instead of mud slinging and trying to get the voter to hate the guy just a bit more than they hate you. Its no wonder those who are identifying themselves as independent has shot up from 30% in 2005 to 47% today. I think more and more people are just getting tired of both parties.
you mean the old days of 1800, which had one of the dirtiest presidential elections in american history up to that point? and by dirty i mean political mudslinging.

Wait, do you think Black voting history started at '36 and ended in '04?

No one in the GOP wants to bring back slavery. Saying so is a lie. Lying about it is a fabrication--creating--racism.
