I have no problem with a potty mouth...its the self-righteousness mixed with hypocrisy that I take issue with.

Perhaps social and political humor is a bad idea for politicians. However, we must also be honest with ourselves. You were ready to read into the joke to back up your perceptions of white Republicans. The joke itself was inconsequential to what you believe is the greater nugget of truth. The self-deprecating joke was merely a springboard for you to delve straight into your soap box.

They can't. It's no wonder that the thinnest book in the world is 'Great Right Wing Comedians'. Of course, they are often unintentionally hilarious, which I guess counts for something.

The group that Graham was meeting with, the Hibernian Society, are a bunch of prejudiced assholes. They ban women from attending their Saint Patricks's day dinner. The joke kind of falls flat when its actually true. Graham would do well to make sure his joke doesn't involve himself actually lobbying in support of an openly discriminatory organization.
