    You don't seem to understand.

If you get treated like a second class citizen because of your sexual preference for long enough, the tendency is to either celebrate who you are or stay in the closet. As we all know now, those who choose to live a lie end up -- understandably -- pretty ****ed up. Fighting who you naturally are often leads to personal destruction.

    Pride started because:
    1) It's a way for gays to no longer feel shame and celebrate who they are naturally.
    2) It's a way to meet others who've experienced similar 'shame.'
    3) It's a way to encourage gays to be who they are and come out of the closet.
    4) It's a way the help gay family members to understand.

Heterosexual people -- like you and I -- do not need any form of celebration because we are not repressed because of our sexuality.
No men are anywhere, and Im allowed to go in, because Im the owner of the pageant and therefore Im inspecting it, Trump said... Is everyone OK? You know, theyre standing there with no clothes. Is everybody OK? And you see these incredible looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that.

For ****'s sake, American, that has got to be the silliest reasoning I have ever read. So just because there is less food availability in Africa than in the US, people in the US should not starve? C'mon... homosexuality acceptance has come a long way... but there is still discrimination. And comparing it to another country does not make it go away.

No, it's about the constant complaining of bigotry and oppression. This website is jam packed with gay marriage threads, yet in Russia you can't even come out of the closet. People need to get a perspective.

Does anyone really care about the sexual orientation of public figures? I don't get the infatuation with it. I've never given a second thought about it. I just don't get, especially now when it seems like coming out is done daily, that people think it's a big deal.

Not only that, but in the grand scheme of things, who really gives a crap? Does it effect the quality of Apple products? No it doesn't. So who cares?

It is this constant pushing it in peoples faces that angers them. Note to American: Bigotry and oppression happen in the US. Still. And why you feel like it's whining is beyond me.
