[h=1]US Federal Reserve ends QE stimulus programme[/h]The US Federal Reserve has announced it is ending its quantitative easing (QE) stimulus programme begun in 2008.
The Fed said it was confident the US economic recovery would continue, despite a global economic slowdown.
The targets for inflation and reduction in unemployment were on track, the Fed said in a statement.
The central bank, which also said it would not raise interest rates for a "considerable time", has gradually cut back QE since last year.

And the stock market will... do what? Wait and see.

Did anyone else notice that this is from the BBC, while American news sources seem to be focused on Ebola?

I'm more interested in hearing all the doomsdayers who have been claiming the stock market will tank the day it happens, come in here and personally admit they were wrong. :)

It's not the end of QE that would trigger a sell off, it's an increase in the prime rate. We've already seen the market dip 100+ points when the Fed just hints at raising the prime rate. It will be interesting to see what happens when they announce they will do it for real.

Well, in America's defense this was from BBC Business. I would guess there isn't much space dedicated to Ebola on the CNN Money tab and you can probably find a story about QE ending there.

Not if its American media that focuses on the economy.

You should stop watching joke NEWS focused on random things when looking for economic updates.

Jmotivator basically said it, it's BBC BUSINESS
