And this post is irrelevant. You didn't address my comments in the first post, instead soapboxed some anti-liberal bull****. If you want to soapbox, find somewhere else. This is a debate site. Now, I called you on your dishonest post (#20) that misrepresented what Redress said and had no bearing in reality to any of his comments. Are you prepared to address that, or can I just expect some further idiotic anti-liberal soap-boxing from you? If it's the latter, I will just continue to point it out.

What a tremendous service for no one who is an actual citizen of the U.S.
You can vote any where without an ID with a provisional ballot.

Perhaps. And unless you obtain a State or Federally Issued Photo ID not a college ID etc. and present it within a few days of the election, your vote won't count.

of course there are many valid ids to use, texas accepts a bunch.

the real issue is that states dont cross examine eachothers rolls, meaming the only catch multiple registrations in their own state.furthe anyone who can buy a ssn from the black market could just as easily buy a fake id.

and so on...and so on. There isn't much stopping someone determined to by-pass the law to vote. "Voter fraud" is not a new phenomenon.

No one can tell me how adding a new ID to the list of IDs allowable helps prevent voter fraud. If all the other IDs can still be faked ...then what good is another ID?

I can register to vote in Texas by mail...how freaking secure is that.

No, an honest one, based on actual research.

If you are referring to a national ID card, no.

It's not absurd when you consider the inherent costs and massive bureaucratic changes for the creation of a National ID. There were many reasons why the national ID was tossed aside, and some of those included: no one wanting to shoulder the responsibility, state objections, security problems, massive costs to produce cards with high security protections, and so forth.

Suggesting it's easy as pie is ignorance personified.

If you are referring to a national "Voter ID" law--then you still have problems inherently built into the American system. States will not go down without a fight on that. Meeting the definitions for acceptable ID, including cost is going to be contentious. Make or incentivize it "too low" and states will determine that they won't be able to gain enough funds from the system. Make or incentivize the costs too high and you obviously make it difficult for people to afford the cost of the ID, and encourage people to use a potentially complicated and time-consuming "free ID" process.
