My Christian faith absolutely allows for evolution as a process of creation.

Your "religion" doesn't allow for creation as a process for evolution.

So tell me who's less open-minded?

Evolution is not a reasoned guess. It's a theory in the scientific definition of the term. It is supported by mountains of scientific evidence and forms the basis of the modern understanding of biology.

Claiming there is little evidence or that there are breaks in logic is simply BS.

OK, well let me know when you find all those pesky transitional fossils, and I'd like a good explanation of where that original set of DNA came from.

Transitional fossils are everywhere. We can observe the evolution of man from ape over the course of millions of years through an unbroken sequence of fossils. The claim of "missing transitions" is a myth perpetuated by religious fanatics.

Regarding the original set of DNA, evolution makes no attempt whatsoever to explain that. The origin of life is NOT part of the theory of evolution.

Aw - denial - the fallback position when shown to be wrong, nevermind, moving on ....

WE don't have to find anything -- the work has already been done by thousands of researchers during the past two hundred years

Saying that the big bang is hogwash is not a belief. It's a negative statement. I can't believe in something that I have not witnessed to be true for myself.

The big bang is a theory, not a proven fact. They recently discovered that some aspects of the universe are expanding at different rates than others. The idea that the universe has an origin point is unproven. The big bang theory is science's creation story, nothing more.

So, the American Revolution may not have occurred or nobody dropped an nuclear bomb on two Japanese cities because you "have not witnessed" said events?

    Not quite.

These beliefs differ strongly by religious group. White evangelical Protestants are particularly likely to believe that humans have existed in their present form since the beginning of time. Roughly two-thirds (64%) express this view, as do half of black Protestants (50%). By comparison, only 15% of white mainline Protestants share this opinion.

Well, gee, I think I knew it's been around for a while. However it hasn't been at the forefront of science rejection a good chunk of the 20th century as well as this one.
