Do you think the number of cameras filming were fueling the guy's tough act? Do you think it would have escalated if the 15 people with cameras instead surrounded the guy and tried to calm him down?

Unequal protection? For whom? There have been hate crime convictions for targeting whites and heteros.

One does not get convicted of a hate crime just because their victim is homosexual. It appears you have no understanding of US hate crime legislation whatsoever.

How can someone be this ignorant of the facts and yet rail against something? Talk about blind rage. Sad.

I've really no clue where that came from or what your point might be.

Strange. I would figure that it was pretty much normal behavior for people to protect someone who was getting pushed around for no good reason. I guess I just don't understand why this particular incident has garnered so much attention.

You're poking fun at a mental disorder? Pathetic.

If someone attacks a random stranger and he turns out to be black/LGBT, should that get a harsher crime?

It's Texas. Is anyone REALLY surprised by this?

I have become so ashamed of my home state. Their silly "cowboy," boots stupid little "cowboy" hats and redneck viewpoints. Is it any wonder their political landscape is so off the hook ridiculous?

The Texas I remember had plenty intelligent and cool people. What in the world happened down there?

Perhaps, nothing has changed. Maybe it's just the advent of the convenient video cam. How come we only hear of stupid **** coming out of Texas anymore? Perhaps acts of kindness and intelligence just don't make for good entertainment. I dunno.

Fair enough. I was illustrating the apparent random nature of your outburst.

If someone attacks a random stranger and he turns out to be black/LGBT, should that get a harsher crime?
You don't understand hate crime legislation?

Hate crimes exist only because a new category was created to appease idiots.

A crime is supposed to be about the harm caused, not about the motivation. So under those auspices, hate crime should not exist, as harmed cased should be about harm caused, regardless of motivation.

In this case, battery being the actual crime, not the motivation.

Criminalizing the motivation as a way to enhance a sentence is nothing more than engagement of thought policing, and is wrong.

And Ray Rice's problem is that there were cameras in the elevator. You used to be able to beat on people in private.

Nice job trying to minimize what the guy did. I don't care what your politics are, kicking a random stranger in the nuts at the airport is not OK.
