Union bosses don't give a damn about the company or even the employees. They are self centered selfish individuals that peddle their wares to the next group of saps that buy their bs.

Corporations are run by people, managed by people, and do indeed hold the chips. They are in business to make money. You don't want to work for a corporation don't. Stop getting someone else to make your demands for you.

Still waiting for your experience with unions
Bankruptcy only occurs if there is a poor balance of interests between management and labor. Both sides negotiate to reach terms that are acceptable. Both sides agree. Both adhere to terms. That's what contracts are for. It's not simply a unilateral decision made by the union without consent if the company.

Why is it that a bankrupt company is your only concern and not bankrupt workers?

Workers can sell their wares to anyone that will have them, companies have to generate revenue through the sales of products to consumers who have a choice on where they buy. You really are very young, aren't you?

Workers have exactly what invested in the company? Time? Money? You simply have no idea how business operates. What is the largest monthly operating expense a business has?

What point are you trying to make here?

That businesses are more fragile than the lives of those working for them?

    That employee turnover harms businesses?

That workers don't invest blood, sweat, and tears into their jobs?

My point is that businesses are in business to make money, they are not charities. Employee turnover is an expense to business and employee salaries are the biggest operating expense a business has. A union drives up operating expenses and businesses cannot generate a return on their investment and pay those expenses they go out of business.

This is a great country that allows you to start your own business. Why don't you just do that and see how unions will affect you?

We agree that businesses are in business to make money. Unions are around to protect workers. You're arguing that only one of those two functions is beneficial, which I consider short sighted.

You really are very naive if you believe unions are around to protect the workers. Unions are around to make money as well and have absolutely nothing invested in the businesses many destroy

Unions are like liberals, telling you what you want to hear, you buy the rhetoric, and then pay for that rhetoric every day in higher costs

If unions are "only around to make money", they're very good at getting good stuff accomplished accidentally. Union members earn more, have better benefits, and better job security. Imagine what they could accomplish if they weren't "just out to make money."

If unions are so great at doing what you say why is union support continuing to decline and such a low percentage of people members? Could it be that people aren't seeing what you are seeing?

America has been shifting to individualistic mentality for decades. Unions are a casualty of that mindset. The myth of self-sufficiency and the narrative of success as an individual achievement are at this point deeply rooted in the American psyche. Unions are largely the antithesis of what Americans believe are the means to success, even if they would provide results that are in keeping with what Americans actually want.
