What I don't get is, with Obamacare and centralized medical records, proper ID will be critical to insure a patient is being treated properly. Why aren't liberal/progressives ignoring that fact when claiming getting an ID for voting is impossible?
Because honesty isn't important to liberals. Only ideology matters, and if they have to lie, cheat or steal to get their ideology implemented, then that's the way it goes.

Yeah the Justice Dept and Holder are a bit miffed. Automatically they came back with 600k will be affected by this. Then thru in race saying the majority would be Hispanics and Blacks.

I am even for giving them Free IDs.....as then it leaves the left with no excuses whatsoever. Ginsberg dissented and left remarks. Hopefully people from the Right will respond back to her and give her some things to think about.....while she prepares for Pasture.....and then becoming irrelevant for the rest of her days. As it is written....let it be so!

Congrats Texas!

We all know that presenting a valid, state issued, photo ID is only not a "discriminatory burden" when it is required for buying guns, alcohol and tobacco. ;)

Uhh, you guys are the ones who always say gun control laws don't stop anyone from getting guns.

What? I have said many times that I object to the Texas law that outright bans open carry of handguns and then requires a $240 fee for the privilege of having a CCW permit. Why does that "reasonable restriction" not get the same "discriminatory burden" attention as requiring one to present a $24 (or less) state issued, photo ID when voting?

I would prefer that the exact same criteria be used to allow voting and full 2A rights. It amazes me that folks believe that charging large fees for merely keeping one's constitutional rights is valid for "gun control". Crime, committed with or without a gun, is already illegal yet many repeat violent offenders are left to wander freely among us.

So, help me out. Do ID laws for gun purchases stop criminals from purchasing guns?

I am all for the state assuming the financial burden of photo IDs. Money well spent.

Yeah I don't have a problem with that....as they scam the people every 2 years for money over elections. I think Congressmen and Senators Terms should be limited to two terms. 10 years......5 years each term. If they can't get things done in a decade. Time to hit the road jack.

Lets not allow politicians to be more than what they are.....Servants of the people!

Always remind them wherever they open their Mouths.....They are to serve. So don't try to be anything else but a servant. Know thy place on the food chain.

So, help me out. Do ID laws for gun purchases stop criminals from purchasing guns?

They may hinder the use of FFL dealers as a primary source but in no way prevent other avenues of obtaining them. We have a (nearly) nationwide ban on the purchase/possession of "recreational drugs" yet they are a multi-billion dollar business run entirely by criminals.

It is not the purchase of a gun that causes the problems - it is the criminal use of that gun that must result in harsher sentences. Why is seen as a good idea to let violent felons (or the criminally insane) roam freely among us and then try to prevent them from obtaining the preferred tools of the trade?

Criminals can buy guns from other criminals, or steal them.
They can't go to a voting booth run by criminals and have their votes counted, nor can they steal someone else's vote.

Sure they can....All of the above....:rofl

Then again.....they can just decide, who gets in.....to vote. ;)

If? Of course libs can't tell the truth about their objectives.

Ok, so ID laws for guns don't help, but ID laws for fraudulent votes do?

Your argument has already been shot down. Why embarrass yourself further?

I love when big tough guys quake in there slippers with fear that they may have to walk by a mean-looking black guy while going to vote. Who would not voted because some tough guy is out front.

Thank God they did not dump a bunch of spiders in front of the polling place...now that's scurry.

So you think that voter intimidation is okay?

I see. So if a bunch of skinheads with nazi uniforms on, camped out in front of polling places, you wouldn't have a problem?

Moreover.....intimidating little ole ladies and Senior Citizens isn't making tuff guys quake. Like you imagined.

Yep. The liberals should be begging for the repeal of obamacare.....as by their logic...requiring proper ID disenfranchises seniors and minorities.
