You left wingers are trying to rewrite History by calling Democrats Conservatives, but the truth is the Democrat party has always been about controlling minorities one way or the other.
It has always been Southern Conservatives.
Created by Radical Republicans over Reconstruction after Lincoln was murdered .

They are now GOPs and have made the switch since the 1920s, 1960s and now--and you know it .

You must be very proud of today's Democrat Party with the 20 million unemployed/under employed/discouraged workers, almost 8 million part time employees who want full time jobs, the over 7 trillion added to the debt, and of course the wonderful condition the world is in. We all know that the part of Obama and Reid have generated these results but partisan liberals like you will never hold them responsible for their own failures. How many bills has the House passed that are sitting in Harry Reid's desk?

And none of this has anything to do with voter ID Jim Crow laws does it Conservative?

Why would you, the poster Conservative, say that I am very proud of the false-equivalency lies you have spewed forth here ?

LMAO. Instead of admitting you clearly misstated the voting RIGHTS issue, I get a word salad. It's a right - the Constitution is very clear.

And of course I'd have a problem if someone voted 'for' me. But that just doesn't happen. They tried to find examples in Tennessee, and as I recall it was less than a dozen in more than that many elections. So not even ONE time, per election, in the entire STATE.

Furthermore, in Tennessee we've had an "ID" requirement for many years. I'm not sure when it started, but I've had to show "ID" for as long as I remember. I could show my voter registration card, a SS card, a work ID, and many more. That's not a problem. But the Photo ID rules are incredibly restrictive for no purpose anyone can identify, except for the 'feature-not-a-bug' effect of making it much harder for lots of democratic leaning voters to cast a vote.

I think you're referring to the Democratic Party. There is no "democrat" party that I know of. Like there is no "Repugnican" party or Republick party or Republicorp party, etc. And it was Southern whites who were behind KKK, Jim Crow, etc.

Al Gore's Father was a huge racist

History is clear, and there isn't any point arguing with you. There are no remnants of the KKK in today's Democratic party. Take a look at the conventions, or party leadership, or the race of elected representatives, and tell me which party would be most comfortable for a KKK sympathizer.....

Hint, it's the party that has elected reps sending images out like this one:

    no-easter-egg-hunt-this-year-photo.jpg

And many more that I don't feel like finding and attaching....

Just a correction - at that time they were Southern Democrat whites who were behind KKK, Jim Crow, etc. You left "Democrat" fact out for some strange reason.
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

It was a Republican Support that passed the Civil rights Act with Al Gore's father's opposition and a bloc of 18 Democrat Senators. You seem to have a very selective memory

More specifically it was Democrats, the same people who feel that Blacks are inferior today.

Not officially since Robert Byrd died, but he always had his sympathizers within the party.

Sure, there were democrats then and are republicans now.

It's a stain on the democratic party of that time that they allied with the southern white racists. It's also more a stain on the South, and whites in the South.

But the POTUS at the time the CRA and VRA passed was a Democrat. More democrats than republicans voted FOR those acts. It's just that the white racist south voted almost unanimously AGAINST those acts.

From wikipedia: Civil Rights Act of 1964 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    The original House version:

    Southern Democrats: 7–87 (7–93%)
    Southern Republicans: 0–10 (0–100%)
    Northern Democrats: 145–9 (94–6%)
    Northern Republicans: 138–24 (85–15%)

    The Senate version:

Southern Democrats: 1–20 (5–95%) (only Ralph Yarborough of Texas voted in favor)
Southern Republicans: 0–1 (0–100%) (John Tower of Texas)
Northern Democrats: 45–1 (98–2%) (only Robert Byrd of West Virginia voted against)
    Northern Republicans: 27–5 (84–16%
