Democratic ads off the air in Kentucky Senate race

AP Article: said:
FLORENCE, Ky. (AP) — The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has stopped running TV ads in Kentucky's U.S. Senate race, a severe blow to Alison Lundergan Grimes in her challenge to Republican leader Mitch McConnell.

In a statement issued three weeks before the Nov. 4 election and a day after the candidates' sole debate, the committee said Tuesday that it had spent more than $2 million in Kentucky and continued to fund get-out-the-vote operations. However, the committee made no commitment to go back on the air in support of Grimes, who has been pummeled by tens of millions of dollars in attack ads by McConnell and his allies.

The committee's decision in Kentucky was in strong contrast to its activities in other states with pivotal Senate races. Democrats continued to spend freely in Iowa, Georgia, North Carolina and several other states as they tried to blunt a Republican drive to gain a Senate majority in midterm elections.

Looks like the Democrats just threw in the towel in Kentucky. I'm sure Grimes will give it her best shot, but it seems like this race is all but called from the DSCC perspective.

Thoughts?

How did the Clinton Gala go down tonight in KY?
With Bill so close to old man Lundergan--and Grimes calling herself a Clinton Democrat--and Bill being so popular in KY.

How soon before rhetorical hit-man Rand Paul starts back up with Monica Lewinsky?
R . Paul should explain his flip-flops on every issue under the sun--
and how he holds his nose supporting someone who tried to defeat him in his Senatorial primary.
Supporting Sen. McFilibuster who GOPs would want term-limited if he was a DEM.

Explain the racist newsletters of Sen. Paul's Dad--since righties are attacking the Father of young Soros--
though you guys seem to think the Kochs are off-limits.
How do you like those feel good Koch ads with women speaking ?

Too bad the #1 GOP Grand Obstructor on Purpose is still pigeon-holed in KY--
not able to grease the skids of other GOP candidates like Roberts and Rounds in Conservative Populist country.

Having to use millions on his own race instead of helping others .

I very much doubt that Republicans are still going to pour money in a state that the Democrats have essentially yielded. Although I think it's unfair for it to be so, the death nail in this race was her not answering whether she voted for Obama or not.

And if she would have answered yes, that would have been used against her and been more damaging.
I'm quite sure this is her old man's call to go with the two Clintons.

Whether fair or not, Obama is toxic in a state where people don't know who the governor is,
who like KYnect, who hate Obamacare and who believe the lies spewed by McConnell on KYnect.

It's simply more of the Nixon coin where both sides are heads and Dems call tails.
All McConnell has had to offer is making Obama a one-term President--
now it may be to ruin the next two years for this Nation to destroy Obama--since I'm a realist .

Bill may be popular, but he's not running the country. And let's face it, we all know who she voted for. What would of been major news was if she had voted for Romney and/or McCain. Can you imagine how the race would of altered then?

Also, let's be honest Nimby, even if the Government remained in the state it was today (that is D in control of Senate and White House, with R in control of the House), it's not like we've had one of the best two years in this nation's history. I've told you think before, at least with the R in charge, we can get rid of the obstructionism (on both sides) and actually have some real debate on the issues, as R will be pressed now to come up with ideas, and then Obama can either choose to veto and take the obstructionist title, or work with Congress and in that case get things done.

Edit: I think this country works best (since we have a two party system) if the two parties have an equal share of power and we have responsible (at least ones that can cooperate) leaders on both sides to get things done.

Let's be honest, the only time things ever get done is during the Lame Duck session...

Sounds like it. Her campaign was finished as soon as she refused to admit whether she voted for Obama. Even if she admitted she voted for him, she could have spun it her way if she wanted, but her way just showed weakness.

Still, as Democrats are eliminated here they do look a lot better in Georgia then they did last week.

Her coal country comments, and even more so her refusal to be upfront about who she voted for sealed the deal.

Last week I called this as the end of her career. Its for the better.

So your answer is distraction? Good luck with that.

What end of? She has to serve out her state job that she forgot about to run for Senate...
