We have that law here in Ohio. John Kasich, our republican governor thinks it's great.

Do you have dead solid proof that in-person voter fraud is even a real-world problem in Texas?

I don't have to, see the other guy.

If there's no illegal voting, then a voter ID law shouldn't be a problem...right?

If there is no in-person voter fraud then what purpose does such a law serve? How would a voter ID law mitigate such a problem even if it did exist?

Exactly- an excellent point. It is my right to buy a gun, but I am required to not only show ID, but also go through a federal background check. Let's see how that would go if it were a voting rights issue.

    First off, Awesome news !!

If voter ID pisses off Liberals this much thats justification enough for implementing it every State in the Union.

There's only one reason it does cause them so much grief is it's a first line of defense against voter fraud.

There's a good reason this is a Political issue.

Fraud that they rely on to win elections because honestly, they cannot win any other way.

    And you claim victory?

    Congratulations, I guess?
How can it be unconstitutional when the voter ID's are free? If I recollect right every state that offered free voter ID's, their law was ruled constitutional. My home state of Georgia is one of them.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

Appeals court reinstates Texas voter ID law

The ruling by a three-judge panel of the New Orleans-based 5th Circuit Court of Appeals allows the law to be used in the November election, despite a lower judge's ruling that the law is unconstitutional. The 5th Circuit did not rule on the law's merits; instead, it determined it's too late to change the rules for the election.
