The institution of marriage as the union between one member of BOTH sexes isn't a matter of bigotry. I'd say that the fact that over 90% of the world comprehends this but you don't. That means that maybe the ignorance is really yours. You should think about that a bit but I know you won't.

You can attempt to paint over it all you want but it is much like attempting to cover a pile of crap with newspaper. The pile is still there and the smell remains.

As we've noticed of your arguments. But that colorful self-description means nothing here. Many states have majorities that are against allowing homosexual marriage.

Over 90% of the world is sane enough to comprehend the fact that marriage is a union of each of the opposite sexes. That smell you are talking about isn't because of anything being covered up. It's because of where you stuck your head.

Yea, many had the same feelings about many other rights, but bigotry is still on its way out even if you still defend it.

Not sure how those dots connect - according to you, 90% of countries still ban SSM=====> bans not based on bigotry. Heck, in many of those countries the bigotry is overt, expressed through criminal prohibitions on homosexual conduct, punishable by jail or death.

Maybe we're working with different definitions of the word "bigotry." We're using the term as it's defined in the dictionary, and you're making up your own definition.

BTW, as an aside, I have little respect for Scalia's views on this matter, but at least he's intellectually honest enough to admit that the various bans on homosexual conduct and marriage are based on a desire for the community to express "moral opprobrium" or, in common language, bigotry.
