Leaders of Iraq's Anbar province call for U.S. ground forces to stop ISIS

    From CNN:

Leaders in Iraq's western Anbar province appealed Saturday for help from U.S. forces on the ground to halt the relentless advance of ISIS fighters.

The situation in the province, just to the west of Baghdad, is "very bad," the president of Anbar Provincial Council told CNN by phone on Saturday.

Considering the on-and-off nature of the U.S. and coalition air strikes and the general performance of Iraq's armed forces in combat with ISIS, this appeal should not be too surprising.

When they start paying US taxes then perhaps that request will get due consideration.

All things point to Americans GOING BACK and our wonderful leaders that all had draft deferments during the draft and none of which signed up to serve after the draft was ended will send our young people back to another pointless "die for nothing" war. The only way to fight against yet another senseless slaughter of our troops is to march on Washington by the millions. We have shown over and over our "allies" will never possess the will or courage to defend themselves so let them all perish in fire. I'll bet if a Republican was president and he or she ordered troops back in to Iraq protestors would go to work immediately. Let's sit tight and see what method the dems use because we ARE going back.

Mornin' DS. At the same time Al Sadr is calling for the US to pull out of Iraq.

Mornin Ttwtt. ISIS still has to be dealt with.....as there is no negotiating with them. Unlike Iraq and others.

Well they've been running away a little too, don't forget that. Plus, this is not a US fight, despite the fact the US has stuck its arrogant nose into it for decades, and even the Iraqi army is likely divided on sectarian lines. Get the hell out, and stay out!

I have real difficulty telling who the good guys and bad guys are in Iraq. Nobody would be interested if it were not for the geopolitics/profits of Energy. The real truth is that we should probably support al Sadr. He has demonstrated leadership and a motivation to help Iraqis, not just himself or just Shiites. He hates the US and probably rightfully. Iraq makes a lovely war and continues the generation of Military/Industrial/Corporate profits and policies. I think our change needs to be at a "policy" level. Back to the drawing boards for economic moves at local US levels.
