    Re: Nobel Prize In Chemistry

The winners overcame the resolution limits of optical microscopy and brought it down to the nanoscale. As the ever-helpful Nobel Assembly notes:

For a long time optical microscopy was held back by a presumed limitation: that it would never obtain a better resolution than half the wavelength of light. Helped by fluorescent molecules the Nobel Laureates in Chemistry 2014 ingeniously circumvented this limitation. Their ground-breaking work has brought optical microscopy into the nanodimension.
So now we can clearly see stuff that is in the size of nanometers under the microscope... or rather, the nanoscope. Get it, bc microscope it's micro... nanoscope is nano.

The Japanese ended up in controversy and today no controversy?
