    How?

Any quarantine or removal of people from airline manifests has to take place in other countries. Not our own. How much influence do we have to see that done...and done properly? Those are countries heavily run by corrupt bureaucracies, nepotism, and bribery....at every level, every facility.

Once arrived here....the entire plane would need to be quarantined. The civil rights outrage of Americans on board would be significant.

Would our govt be wrong to do so? IMO no...but there really is no way Obama can do this 'right' in many people's eyes. If he did indeed impose such quarantines, the public outrage would also be off the scale...and that would just be the beginning, in terms of quarantine infringements on people's rights.

I could swear that patient critical had vomited on a street or something, and they just washed it down the storm drain with water...Anyone know if thats true? If it is, doesn't sound too damned smart to me.

One other thing that bothers me is that people are still dieing in South Africa, but the people that come here for treatment get better. If there is a drug available for treatment, why aren't we sending it to help the people who live in other countries? That would stop the trend that seems inevitable at this point.
Right now there isn't a drug. What seems to be prudent at this point is not only exit screening which would take place in Sierra Leon or Libera or any other countries (exist screening has been dismissed as non-existent by some critics) but also entry screening in the US when these passengers land in the US. I don't think that goes far enough - I believe the US needs to adopt a temporary policy of either banning passengers from these countries all together from entry into the US, or, a mandatory quarantine / isolation for those passengers from Ebola countries until such time US can determine they are not infected with Ebola.

I do agree with the CDC in one aspect - that the spread ultimately needs to be addressed in West Africa. Right away.
“I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on what’s being proposed here, he’d agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute.” - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

IN Liberia, no one shakes hands, everyone is requiring a chlorine hand wash and you can't enter a public building without getting your temp checked. (Plus they're going house to house lokking for the sick) Something short of martial law.

That's what I took away from the interview with the head CDC doctor.

What is your point? I dont feel like I have the full context. Your answer is in response to this that you quoted:

Was it just informative? If so, thanks. It is good to know.

This guy, just from a legal standpoint alone, should never have been able to enter the country.

Our entire government is grossly incompetent from top to bottom. The only thing they're good at is putting people in jail for small amounts of weed, and sending people to prison for not paying their income taxes. Our government has become the very same type of bloated and absent tyrannical mess that England was when we declared independence from it. We the people need to declare independence from our crappy elected officials.

I prefer that you just relocate if you don't like it here. :-)
