There is a delicate balance of power that is maintained in Saudi Arabia today. You have to UNDERSTAND it to understand why it is run the way it is. You also have to understand likely outcomes before you start advocating for stupid decisions and actions that would make the place far worse.

I'm going to give you the equivalent response I'm getting, neither one of you know what you're talking about.

I suggest you two discuss the details about how you've got ALL the answers but none of the solutions.

Yes...Saddam should have been replaced. No...they should not have worked to impose a US style democracy there. i have said for 10 years now that they screwed the pooch on their post war ops by not working with successful middle eastern government like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, etc to help establish an effective ruling party in Iraq. But...

You would REALLY rather see Saddam in power still? Do you have any idea as to the atrocities he committed not just on his neighboring countries but also his own people? Of the entire villages of men women and children he gassed because some dared to oppose him? Thats AWESOME...
Don't know what Al Gore's son has to do with the corrupt Saudi government run by an authoritarian family dynasty that supports its own brand of terrorists, including the ones that have shed Americans blood?

No, Saddam Hussein shouldn't have been removed, and finally a majority of Americans now consider the Iraq war (which removed him from power) was a MISTAKE!

Al Gores son is as relevant as 'members of the royal family'.

I wonder if the Saudi "royal family" would agree with that bull hockey?

study the history of the country and see if you can figure out just how many members of the 'royal family' there are.

That still has nothing to do with Al Gore's son, and you've lost touch with reality.

Al Gores son has as much to do with the US government as your making a vapid claim about 'members of the royal family'. Abdulaziz married at LEAST 30 women including a daughter of every Bedouin tribe to consolidate power. He himself had 45 sons and numerous daughters. Your effort to tie the vague phrase 'members of the royal family' to the monarchy in power clearly demonstrates just how little you know about the country.

Since Saudi Arabia hates gays, we should send this to them.

No, all of that is a deflection from the fact that Saudi Arabia is not unlike Iran in its support of terrorist organisations. It's just that such things aren't pointed out of "ally's" and exploited of "enemies"

Re: Saudi Arabia warns Yemen violence could threaten global security

Looks like the Saud was correct with their call from last year, huh? The Coup driven by the Iranians is now being completed. Yemen's President has left the palace and gone into hiding. Others don't want to take part of the breakdown. We are evacuating more people out of Yemen too.

This was BO's trophy case for his FP. It is completely unraveling. Drone strikes strategy will have to change. So will the conflict with AQAP. The Shia have Parliament surrounded and homes of Politicians to, including the Defense Minister. What say ye?

Yemen faces power vacuum after president quits.....

Yemen faced a dangerous power vacuum Friday after its president announced his resignation over a deadly standoff with Shiite militia controlling the capital and lawmakers called an emergency weekend session. Prime Minister Khalid Bahah also tendered his resignation, saying he did want to be part of the collapse of the country.

The fall of Hadi's Western-backed government would raise fears of complete chaos engulfing Yemen, strategically located next to oil giant Saudi Arabia and on the key shipping route from the Suez Canal to the Gulf.....snip~
