Barack Obama left the annual United Nations meeting Thursday with his presidency reshaped by a new era of global turbulence and his worldview sharpened by global jihadism's "heart of darkness".

The world has changed a lot in the last year and the USA and it's allies all over this planet have a lot of threats to deal with in the Middle East and in Europe and Africa.

The USA can't deal with all of those threats on its own, It will need the help of its allies.

What do you think?

We sell the combatants all the equipment, ammunition, and advise they care to afford. And let them duke it out.

I think he needs to quit apologizing for the US.

I think he needs to quit apologizing for the US.

If he hasn't gotten the message by now, I'm it's a lost cause.

We are in turmoil because of him. He has had almost 6 years to do just some of what he promised.

So what?

Bush had 8 years. What did he do to make the world a better place?

Fill us in.

His aid to Africa is well known. He banned racial profiling, preserved the 2A, gave pension benefits to same sex couples....

He did nothing to make the world a better place just like all the post war presidents. Why would we expect the federal government to make the world a better place. Wouldn't it be enough to make the U.S. a better place?

And helped Iran by putting the Shia Muslims in charge in Iraq.

If you see that as a positive - sure. Ignore the other things by all means though....

Bush? What's Bush got to do with anything? I mean even if you think he was the worst of foreign policy bumblers in modern times, how long will you progressives continue to use him as your scapegoat for the failed policies that your shinning beacon of light was supposed to fix today?

Remember 2007? Remember Obama talking to Europeans in Germany about how the Ocean's would recede, and the tensions of of the world would calm if he were to just win the WH, to cheers from you people? Hell, for a moment I even wanted to share a Coke with the world....

But then reality mugged him...And now all you have nearly immediately in your own damned thread on page 1 is to yet again blame Bush.....How weak can one be?

Where did he "apologize"

Attempting to draw a moral equivalency between Ferguson and what ISIS is doing in the ME.

I realize that America's critics will be quick to point out that at times we too have failed to live up to our ideals; that America has plenty of problems within its own borders. This is true. In a summer marked by instability in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, I know the world also took notice of the small American city of Ferguson, Missouri -- where a young man was killed, and a community was divided. So, yes, we have our own racial and ethnic tensions. And like every country, we continually wrestle with how to reconcile the vast changes wrought by globalization and greater diversity with the traditions that we hold dear.

But we welcome the scrutiny of the world -- because what you see in America is a country that has steadily worked to address our problems, to make our union more perfect, to bridge the divides that existed at the founding of this nation. America is not the same as it was 100 years ago, or 50 years ago, or even a decade ago. Because we fight for our ideals, and we are willing to criticize ourselves when we fall short. Because we hold our leaders accountable, and insist on a free press and independent judiciary. Because we address our differences in the open space of democracy -- with respect for the rule of law; with a place for people of every race and every religion; and with an unyielding belief in the ability of individual men and women to change their communities and their circumstances and their countries for the better. What exactly did he reshape? It looked like just a continuation of his world apology tour. He still pissed off at least half the US...if not more then half.

Whatever happened to that Nobel Peace Prize?

He must use it as a door stop now.

There's nothing new or particularly unusual about the current global turbulence.

Exactly. Statistically the world is probably safer today than in the entire history of civilization. Deaths by war, murders, famine, and deaths in pandemics have been declining for decades now.

More precise weaponry will do that.

Good idea. There is no conceivable way this could be bad policy.

As bad giving the arms and training for free? These mooks don't want us involved, but they sure like our toys. I say sell em all they want and let them have at each other. After all we want to help them help themselves. They get poorer and less numerous and eradicate all but the hardiest of the rats. Then eventually they have to rebuild. Otherwise they live in dirt poor ****hole. Will some of the weapons be used against us. Probably, but then again they are being used against us now and we give them away. This way we at least get the benefit of making some money for our trouble before biting us in the ass. As of now we just get bit in the ass regardless. If they have to expend their resources to get the weapons in the first place, that means there is less to expend on coming after us when there are bigger more immediate fish to fry. As for when they are done frying fish in their neighborhood, we can cross that bridge then, or burn it.

Saying we have problems is not "apologizing".
Are you saying we dont have any problems?

Where did anyone say that he reshaped anything?
