Tribal chief: No FedEx until Redskins change team name

Yeah, the suggestion that people stop being racist is really funny to you people.
Oh my gosh. If you were using the correct definition of "racist", then this comment would mean so much to me. Alas, I am not so fortunate.

Don't tell me, you're talking about that bizarre liberal definition where only white people can be racists, right?

Hey, you guys seems to be outraged over Cephus' fire dancing comment, but as of yet, none of you have refuted it. Look I have nothing against Indians. I wish them the same success as everyone else. They are the ones clinging to the reservations and the stagnant culture of the ancient past. You cant worship and revere a savage and prehistoric culture and expect respect from anyone who understands the value of modern culture. Its people like you who pander to their backwardness that keep them impoverished in the richest nation mankind has ever known.
Admittedly, you did do better because you made actual arguments this time. Now, the next time you go outside find a BOOKSTORE or a LIBRARY. When you're inside, go to the HISTORY section. Find a couple books about Native American History and READ THEM. Then, you will not only be able to make arguments about "Native American culture". You will be able to make EDUCATED arguments about it and we can have more fruitful conversations.

In other words, you've got nothing either. Somehow, I'm not surprised.

Very stupid imo. However he does have that right. I just hope the rest of the people that he's telling this to ignores him. No matter what anyone says there is nothing wrong with "Redskins" when it is referring to this football team. Wish people would start looking at the context of how a word is used before starting to call foul. (pun intended :D )

Im not going to do that for one simple reason: I don't care. There is nothing to gain from a study of ancient indian culture. If I am going to study ancient culture, I prefer Greece and Rome. Those cultures actually accomplished something. But those are dead cultures too. If people were milling about in robes and leaf hats on Roman Reservations I would be just as critical of them.

Okay. I won't tell you what definition of racist I'm using if you won't reveal your level of education on racial issues. OH WAIT, you don't have a choice in revealing that because everything you've posted makes your lack of education on the subject painfully obvious. My bad.

That's because you're using a very specific, self-serving definition of racism, that's why talking to you liberals is pointless. But sure, stew in your self-imposed liberal ignorance, it makes no difference to me.

Finally, someone uneducated who admits that they don't want to be educated. Why didn't you just say that from the get go instead of pretending that you knew what you were talking about? Could have saved some time.

Your words are so touching. Thank you.

Again, I offered the challenge for someone to name something of value that 10,00 years of indian culture brought forth and everyone drew a blank. There is nothing to study. They lived like savages for 10,000 years and had this continent somehow not been discovered, they would be living like savages dancing around campfires today. The indian culture is a 10000 year study in stagnation. I would learn more watching paint dry.

I truly have no words to express how grateful I am that you have chosen me - ME - to project onto. It's an honor.

Okay, but now you're back to pretending that you know what you're talking about. It was more authentic when you admitted that you didn't want to be educated. Go back to that.

Because you still have no answer. We all know that, stop trying to pretend otherwise.

No, what's sad are people who cling to failed cultures and spend their lives rotting away on a chunk of useless land while the rest of the world passes them by. Anyone on the reservation can get up, go to the big city, get an education, get a good job and live a good life. Anyone who does not, who refuses to get off that chunk of land because of their ridiculous dead culture, is an idiot.

Not all reservations are poor impoverished sh*tholes on useless land.

A large number of them were placed on useless land that the U.S. government didn't want. Now that casinos are widespread and there is money for the tribes, the standard of living has gone up for many tribes and that's a good thing in general. I'd like to see them all be successful with other things than gambling though, I think a lot of tribes are just capitalizing on the fact that the government can't stop them from operating gambling halls and casinos because it's tribal land. Still, improvement is still improvement and I wish them luck.

Animals: First to domesticate turkeys, llamas, guinea pigs, and honeybees for food.

First to cultivate Cotton and Rubber.

Medical Contributions: Quinine for the treatment of Malaria (that alone saved God knows how many lives worldwide) and figured out long before the Old World that citrus and other foods high in Vitamin C prevent scurvy.

The Mayans were the first culture to use zero in mathematics.

The League of Iroquois introduced concepts of federated democracy.

Some of the reservations in the midwest and the few that our out east are not on worthless land though and the Native Americans on them engage in productive and profitable agriculture just like the whites in areas around them.

And they deserve full credit for everything useful they do.

It's funny. When the controversy over the name started, the people defending the name argued that Native Americans were fine with it. Now, when a story comes out about a Native American that isn't fine with it, the people defending the name accuse him of being stupid and a failure. LOL. Bigots never change. When confronted with new information, they adjust their excuses instead of adjusting their perspective, they adjust their excuses.
Actually, sounds like the extreme side of pretty much any issue/argument.
