Eric Holder To Step Down As Attorney General

Anyone who's ever left a job must have done so because of impending federal indictment.

Yep..... Funny how it happened right before the midterms.

Holder has gotten away with so much **** behind the cloak of progressives...... Holder isn't the only one - Obama is going to be impeached.

Progressives have had their fun on the playground - now their little ****ing **** castle is collapsing.

And I thought you had no sense of humor. :lamo

Obama can be charged with a **** ton of crimes.

The only reason why he's not in jail right damn now is because congressmen (both republican and democrat) would go to prison along with him.

Obama has turned the government into a mafia..

Bull****.

Government has been the mafia for quite awhile now.

And he's been a member for awhile.

He just moved up to the top spot.

There does seem to be a weird "all part of the messiah's plan" to get Holder on the supreme court vibe coming from the left. The LightBringer does not hire racists hacks, its all part of His plan. Unless the vast right wing conspiracy stops it of course and then it will be Bush's fault.

That would be the equivalent of Bush nominating Harriet Miers. They should let him know from the start that it ain't happening.

John Ashcroft resigned as Attorney General in 2005. Not indicted.

John Ashcroft was an OK AG. he got a bit whacky with some bible thump nonsense

most of the line attorneys didn't have problems with Ashcroft

the biggest complaint was some people with no credentials (Ashcroft had Yale and U of Chicago degrees-had been a state AG and US Attorney so he had a sterling resume) like that idiot Monica Gooding who went to a fifth rate law school having the same or higher authority over some of the really top people in the Bush DOJ like Peter Keisler

Harriet Miers was an interesting matter. Miers was top of her class at a decent regional law school (SMU IIRC) and the first woman partner at some big big Texas firm. for years, liberals and some populist conservatives have been complaining that ever since Stevens (NWU), every supreme court justice has come from a very small group of elite law schools-Harvard (Breyer, Souter, Scalia, Roberts, Kennedy and Ginsberg {who transferred to Columbia due to her husband's hospitalization in NYC) and Kagan) Yale (Thomas, Sotomayor, Alito) and Stanford (SDO and Rehnquist). Many have suggested that the Court needs the perspective of a justice who didn't go to one of those three schools which are generally ranked as three of the top five nationally (U of Chicago is almost always in that group-while Michigan, Columbia, Penn, Duke, Cornell, NYU, UVa, and G'town rotate into that group depending on the year and the raters)

So HM was seen as a loyal GOP pick who went to some school other than H, Y, or Stanford but who had top grades and had done well professionally

UNDER the current standards (law review at Harvard, Yale or Stanford) she was not "qualified" but her credentials were better than many who had been on the court in years past. the CJ Warren Burger was a political hack for example who went to a much weaker law school. it has only been the last 30 years or so that nominees for justices have come only from these top schools

Nice post, but who cares what law school someone went to?

The only denominator I care about is that the AG actually was a lawyer...

Presently our administration has people in positions that have absolutely no experience in those fields..

Holder is just a partisan clown - he makes Obama look like Malcolm X.

I'm not that concerned about the schools they went to, I'm more concerned about whether or not they feel a need to abide by the Constitution or not. Same goes for the new AG. Do you think that, at the confirmation hearings, anyone will ask which laws that Congress has passed and the President has signed they they will decide not to enforce?

I can't believe race is being brought up with regard to Eric Holder.......this is about politics not race........this thread should be locked

Seriously? The AG has made a career out of racial politics. How is that not relevant?

Eric Holder said on February 18, 2009 that we were a "Nation of Cowards" when it came to race. The man had been AG for how long? And people demand that threads be locked when his obvious, out of the gate racial undertones are brought up. Amazing.

The most politically driven and corrupt Attorney General in the past 100 years or more.

AG's are often corrupt and politically driven.

As attorney general and, earlier, as White House counsel, Gonzales pushed for expanded presidential powers, including the authority to conduct warrantless eavesdropping on U.S. citizens. He also drafted controversial rules for military war tribunals and sought to limit the legal rights of detainees at Guantanamo Bay — prompting lawsuits by civil libertarians who said the government was violating the Constitution in its pursuit of terrorists.

Gonzales came under intense criticism and pressure to resign over what critics said were politically motivated firings of federal prosecutors. He is among about a dozen senior administration officials who have resigned amid the protracted congressional investigation into the matter.

Holder only cares about white on black violence, not black on black, not black on white. He fans the flames of racial division and hatred.

I know, I know........but we are not supposed to talk about race on this forum.......it makes people 'uncomfortable'

Well I guess that explains everything.

I don't know that it explains "everything", but AG's are loyal to the president, and they protect the president, his agenda and interests, so it's pretty pointless to point to one as politically driven.
