Item 1: Do not censor or distort historical textbooks to promote a particular political ideology of right wing nationalism that ignores the mistakes the United States has made and which encourages unquestioning deference to authority rather than acknowledging the positive changes that have occurred due to civil unrest and protest.

    Will that suffice?

respect for the law, means to obey law........you don't have to like the law, just observe it.

you are quoting me on the president's actions on the ACA law.

where he has no authority to change the law or delay the law, his duty is to faithfully execute the law, which is why the Constitution states...the president "shall"

Do you have a link to this? He asked for a "student-published list of grievances".

I have 3 high schoolers, all smart and get very good grades. None of them would be able to string that sentence together without adult prompting. Nor would any of their friends that I know, which number in the hundreds.

This is a generation of kids who learned to spell on PCs with spell check and grammar check, and who spend more time typing on their smart phones and playing Xbox.

Perhaps everyone should focus a curriculum in History based on 'History'. History is not a study of yesterday steered by a liberal OR a conservative bent. History is what it is. Or rather, what it was. Attempting to attach a philosophy or perspective is something best done in a sociology or philosophy class.

One of the best professors I had would ask people in discussion groups what their opinion was on historical matters and you were graded on your ability to demonstrate critical thinking and knowledge of the historical event. Then for the written assignment, you had to write a paper presenting an opposing viewpoint. There was no expectation that you change your mind...merely that you truly study history.

Nah. My words. I was just being a smart ass because I did not like Jerry's insinuation there was nothing to protest.
