Genocide is being committed, whether it's "our business" or not. How does one stop it? By eliminating the terrorists' means of destruction and empowering the people.

It was a success, that's true. The genocide stopped and democracy was introduced, but that hard won democracy was not protected, and that could have been easily done. You said "The idea now is to depose tyrants and foster democracy; that costs a lot less blood and treasure". That established democracy in Iraq was abandoned for the crassest political reasons, and now millions will suffer..

Uhm, there's about 1,400 to 1,600 boots on the ground in Iraq that are armed and most are special forces...
I don't often change my signature, but this was just too over the top to let anyone forget with what this country is up against...

everybody forgets Obama mentioned "North Africa" in his speech about bombing ISIL in Iraq. They shouldn't
Thank You for the link. That tends to explain it all that everyone...well almost everyone has forgotten. Most think Libya is the land of peace and tranquility since Qaddafi is gone. That is far from the truth.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

Of course, you're right. That's why we intervened in Rwanda. Oh wait..... No, but that's why we jumped right in to Darfur. No, darn. Wait..... Hey we're so concerned about beheadings, that's why we're sending troops to Mexico to fight the drug cartels..... ahh dammit. We aren't.
One must do everything all the time and it be perfect to have good intentions. Very rational argument there

I agree; nonetheless, actions against ISIS are just.

Would you prefer a "manufacturer in America" sticker on the genocide? Because that is the only change that will come with our involvement. I don't like being Machiavellian with the whole thing...but the fact is our involvement doesn't stop genocide.

How does one stop it? By eliminating the terrorists' means of destruction and empowering the people.
So installing a pro western regime? Has that ever worked? Cold War?

Helping to install a pro-democracy and human rights government. That's different than what you're proposing. It worked in Japan and it's working in Somalia, Iraq and other countries.
