The article used quotes from the daily briefing at the Bush Whitehouse but you are right they do read like a bad comic. What is clear is that Bush has a one track mind and if it wasn't about invading Iraq he did not want to hear about it.

Pointing out failure of an administration is not being partisan. Especially when those in his own party are doing the same. I suggest you take off those rose colored glasses you must be wearing so you can better get a view of reality. Cheers!

This is bigger than Obama and ISIS. It's not a show. The endgame is to, firstly, secure and consolidate our victory in Iraq by getting the Islamic militants in line and then.... replace the Assad regime.

This would happen whether we had a democrat or a republican in office.

    Follow the money.

The United States and Saudi Arabia created Islamic militants like Al Qaeda and, I wouldn't be shocked, ISIS.

Where do you think these guys got their guns and their military training?

The endgame is to topple Assad. We armed and trained the ISIS fighters, but now they're getting out of hand, so we're bombing them as an appeasement to the American public and also to send a message.

To be clear, the reason you don't want US boots on the ground, is not because you think they couldn't accomplish the job correct? And more about the fact you don't want to see any more Americans die in the Middle East yes?

Personally, I would of preferred a joint command between the Syrians, Americans and the Iraqis to coordinate a little shock and awe air campaign with an assault on ISIS' southern and eastern borders. But since Obama has decided that Assad must go, that isn't going to happened, and we've seen just how effective Iraq has been... even after billions spent and years of us training them. Hell the FSA won't be ready for at least six months. Once you eliminate the possibilities, you gotta admit, the US is looking more and more like the best option.

Oh you're one of those people huh? Look, I get that your history only goes so far as it will to appears your America Bashing, but the truth of the matter is that there isn't a grand conspiracy here, it's just whack job Muslims doing their usual thing. If anything, the error was a lack of imagination on the government's part, not ... I'm sorry what is it you're accusing the Americans and Saudis of doing now?

What does that even mean, "in line". You do realize that 50% of radical Islamist are our enemy right? We're not talking about 30 years ago (you know, when there was this thing in history called the Cold War), but today, after 9/11 when 3000 Americans were killed.

I'm not accusing the Americans and Saudis of anything.... they've freely admitted it. Get off your MSNBC/Fox News/CNN kick and go research the matter for yourself.

Ask yourself this.... how does a ragtag group of "whackjob Muslims" conquer Afghanistan? Conquer large swaths of Iraq and Syria? It takes a trained, organized, and well equipped army to accomplish that.

We armed and trained them to fight our geopolitical foes, the Russians, Assad, Sadaam Hussein, the Iranians. Those nations that actually pose a security risk to the way of life of the American Public.

These "whackjob muslims" are just the ones that got out of hand.... yes, they deserve blame for being fundamentalist nuts, but we also shoulder some blame for arming and training them to begin with.

The airstrikes in Syria have little to do with fighting terrorists. The geopolitical goal of the United States is to topple the Assad regime or to force it in to submission.

You might not know this, but in addition to airstrikes, we are currently arming what our administration is calling "the moderate resistance" forces in Syria to fight a ground war there. The airstrikes are nothing but air cover for these "moderate resistance forces."

9/11 is the biggest public relations stunt in the history of the United States. "Terrorism" is often the excuse the USA uses to fight wars in the middle east.
