About ground troops, it's not like there won't be any. There are Kurds, Iraqis, moderate Syrians, and apparently some 10 other countries in this coalition, and even Iran outside of the coalition but already sending people. If we get a good air campaign and other troops do the ground invasions, maybe we'll avoid having to send in our foot soldiers. However, like I said, if it doesn't work, the Pentagon has already mentioned that American troops might be necessary, and I'm confident that there will be adjustments and reassessments.

I think ISIS is not as strong as a regular national army. If their equipment, training centers, command centers, etc., get bombed to oblivion, then it could be relatively easy for the troops coming from multiple points to just go in and slaughter them.

So, instead of playing partisan politics, let's wait and see what happens, shall we?
So you admit Obama is just playing politics with calling this war? Ok.

As for the competency of the local arab troops, I am not very optimistic-they dont have the combat experience that these terrorists do-so they dont fight as well. Its also hard for them to fight when they think the US will ditch them to be mass executed (as Obama has done for a year or so in Iraq).

Well blow me down. I'm impressed. Most righties are taking this as an opportunity to once again diss the president and **** the pilots to score political points.

You should mail this to the 2004 DNC, they didn't get the memo, opposed the surge, and painted Bush as war criminal.

See my sig. BTW-he doesn't need partisan hacks to fail-in fact he finds new ways every day just on his own. Attacking me wont change this.

We haven't loss any wars in the middle east if that's what your saying. We defeated Iraq twice. The mistake we made was occupying the country. I don't blame our military for that.

When a terrorist group tells our nation that they are coming to attack us (as they are currently executing others) - thats our battle. You can moan about why its happening, but here it is.

The war on terror never ended.

To get votes? How about the American people wanted out of that sheethole?

And the bs about him solely being a community advisor has been debunked years ago. It makes you look ignorant and petty.

Leaving a few troops behind wouldn't have stopped the momentum of ISIS. It was Al Maliki's blundering that disenfranchised the sunnies that made it inevitable along with the collapse of Syria and of course the destabilization we created when we took out Saddam. We would have come to this regardless if we had left some troops behind.

No you stick a sock in it vesper.
Quit playing politics with war with the same old tired Palinesque quips bashing YOUR President.
You should be happy at least he's in DC doing his job, not like the 435 real incompetents on a 54-day vacation.

You'll be the first to complain if he plays a round of golf with his command team with him.
Or campaign for his party which ALL Presidents have done during war .
    Physics is Phun
