Security breached: Intruder gets into White House

I wonder how much of this is true? We only know what they're reporting, but this seems extraordinarily sloppy and out of character for the Secret Service! just sayin'...........

Looks like it is true Lady P.....of course the media has been reporting about how BO still has confidence in the Secret Service. Emphasizing this. Although its not like he is going to come out and say. Aw hell no I don't.

Two intruders arrested in less than 24 hours at White House; Secret Service under scrutiny.....

The Secret Service said a man was arrested for trying to unlawfully enter the White House Saturday, less than 24 hours after a fence-jumper made it all the way into the building.

In the Saturday incident, Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan said a man showed up at one of the White House gates on foot, then showed up in his a car at another gate and pulled into the vehicle screening area. He refused to leave and was arrested for unlawful entry.

Regardless of who is president, this kind of performance by the Secret Service is totally unacceptable. I read somewhere that one officer showed restraint in not shooting the intruder. I don't like to see anyone killed, but perhaps this officer should have used deadly force in this instance. Of course, the intruder shouldn't have gotten anywhere near the White House in the first place.

One warning shot. Second shot leaves a mark.

Now they are saying he was a Decorated Army Vet/Iraq.....they charged him for having the knife. Although the guy's step son says he carries the knife wherever he goes. That he wasn't trying to harm anyone.

And then, you double down on your insults! That's sad, man! Really sad!

While I really don't see what OV is talking about here, you are the last person to be getting upset about "insults."

Oh, I'm not the least bit upset...believe me! :lamo

I'm only pointing out how it's impossible for a Liberal to make an argument, without attacking their opponent.

Objective Voice said: "this in unacceptable"

I point out that no security system os 100%.

Then Objective Voice comes back with: "you're disappointed that the Obama Family wasn't home".

Then, you come in with your comments.

What the hell is that?

Wrong again. You lose, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

This is absolute bull****. WHy is ANYONE concerned that people are sneaking over the fence and entering the WH illegally? This should be ENCOURAGED. And once they get into the WH they should be given a room, food, hell...they should be taken care of. What is everyone afraid of?

I was hoping this guy was part of a plan to Take out Obama!

I don't care who is in the White House, one person does not get to decide for the millions of us if the man in office should remain or not.

You want somebody else in the White House then get to work on impeachment or get off your butt and work for 2016.

I really doubt you will spend nothing more than a thought on pursuing either of those options while seated at your computer chair.

Dude I think you gave them the reaction that they wanted. I think this guy is nothing but a troll.

Looks like the intruder was an Iraqi vet.

Looks that way. Joined today ... first post, advocating presidential assassination.

All I'm saying that although some may find the breech unacceptable, others may secretly be disappointed the target wasn't acquired.

The dem party and US government is not dependent on an individual. It's not like "oh, no, the king is dead, whatever will we do". Think Biden would be different? Assassins could kill there way to a republican, if that's possible, and little would change.

How does this even relate to OV's post?

This issue isn't Democrat or Republican contrary to how yourself, apdst and others are trying to frame it. The issue is one person taking matters into their own hands for the rest of the country. And while I'm sure apdst doesn't wish the President dead (i.e., "If I didn't know better..."), the tenor of his post and those of some others who are so against this man can easily lead one to believe that deep down they secretly wish harm to come to him. I'll use my exchange w/apdst to illustrate (not to pick on him, but just to illustrate my point and because our dialog has become the sub-text of this tread):

It most certainly is a "WTF moment"! This is NOT suppose to happen. I can understand some crazy getting through security at a public speaking event or rally of some kind, but not at the White House. Totally unacceptable.

No security system is 100% inpenetrable.

If I didn't know better, I'd say you're happy the breech occurred but disappointed the guy didn't reach his target.

Was he being matter of fact? Yes, but he was also being rather glib about the ordeal (at least with this response). So, yeah, it's real easy for me to get the impression that some people could care less if harm would come to the President. I would care not because I'm Black or because I'm a Moderate/Center-Left Democrat, but because I'm an American...period. Doesn't matter my race, doesn't matter my political affiliation. It's because this is my President every bit as much as all the others who came before him during my lifetime from JFK to present-day. I may not have liked some of their policies, but I've never lost sight of the fact that the man in the White House was the person the people and the Electorate choose to lead the country....2000 presidential election notwithstanding. And I've never wished harm to come to any of them not even when Reagan was shot. I prayed for the man's recovery and wished shift justice for the one who shot him. But I never wished any of them dead (...just that the term for one to be over quickly even though I voted for him the 2nd time around).

Here's the thing. They knew this individual from one report I read, and knew he had mental issues but didn't think he was dangerous. It's known he was an 18 year vet and had deployed three times to Iraq. Perhaps being that most USSS personel are former military, and the fact they felt he was harmless, is why they hesitated to use deadly force.
