Turkish hostages held by IS in Iraq released

Turkey has a problem with native Kurds and the enemy of your enemy is your friend. It is that simple I'm afraid.

In 1991 I was in Turkey and every night for weeks I heard bombers flying overhead. I was told by a Turkish soldier that it was Turkish planes bombing the Kurds in Iraq.

Could be. Like most I like to read a heck of a lot more into things than which really might be there. It is good to remember the KISS principal.

Well there is something there.....as the Turks fired upon the Kurds. Which now the numbers fleeing Syria into Turkey, was up to 100k. Mostly women, children and seniors.

Turkish security forces clash with Kurds.....

Turkish security forces on Sunday fired tear gas, water and paint pellets on dozens of Kurds in a village on the border with Syria, which tens of thousands of refugees have crossed to escape the Islamic State group. The sound of gunfire could be heard from the Syrian side of the frontier where refugees were piling up after authorities temporarily closed the border.

Police on the ground said they were seeking to prevent Kurdish fighters from entering Syria. However, Private NTV television said the Kurds claimed they wanted to take aid into Syria. The state-run Anadolu Agency reported Kurdish protesters had hurled stones at the security forces.....snip~

In 91? I doubt they were bombing Kurds in Iraq.

You can doubt all you want but it doesn't change what really happened. It wouldn't be the first time we trained the enemy of my enemy.

Okay, so we were training the KR so they could be well trained to kill us. No problem, believe as you will.

Again no mix up. Do you really think a Green Beret would mix up the Khmer Rouge with someone else? Seriously? I can look at all the pictures, plaques, etc. anytime I want and there is no mistake.

I can tell you this, no Green Beret with his salt would be training the Khmer Rouge, North Vietnamese or the Pathet Lao. Not during the Vietnam war as those that I just mentioned were bent on killing any and ever American GI they could along with the ARVN in South Vietnam, the FANK in Cambodia and the Royal Lao in Laos.

The Green Beret's were being trained at Ft. Bragg, JFK Warfare School and other places to kill the KR, PL and NVA. That my friend is fact.

It goes back to what I said to whomever, every nation puts their own needs and interests first.

ISIS is smuggling their Oil thru Turkey and Turkey does know this. Firing on the Kurds wasn't a smart move.

In which we should be making sure Erdogan understands to not make that mistake again.

I highly doubt that will happen.

Well at least not for another 2 years.....but hey. Americans can use Social media to get a point across to Erdogan. He might want to wake up to that fact.

Yeah, tweet him to death.

I'm curious to know that those "details" were.

They were probably released with guarantees that Turkey not support the US led fight (alternating support) against the Islamic State. Though the White House/State Department, says now that they have their hostages back, they've no reason not to help, lol.
