It makes no difference to me if they trust us or not. I'd love to be completely disentangled from the entire ME region, but they just seem to have a need to spread their insanity to western democracies, and when that becomes the case, it becomes a problem for us. As far as I am concerned, they can just go ahead killing each other, as they've likely done since they became self-aware. They are generally a bunch of savages, and those who are not, certainly don't seem to want to take the upper hand and get rid of the scourge that plagues them. It's a damn shame that in a region where some of the finest minds have come from throughout history, they culturally refuse to progress, for the most part.

Seriously, these Middle East folks seem to be from Venus and we seem to be from Mars. World's apart. It's hard to believe we even share any DNA. I don't trust a word they speak. Their actions speak louder than words anyways. I wish there was a way to isolate them from modern civilization altogether. But there's ALWAYS that oil thing.
Isolate them by making their cash cow worth almost nothing. Then the money dries up. The wars for their turf dries up and they fade into irrelevance and they don't have the funding to cross oceans and attack anyone.

I'm highly skeptical of the region as well. But where I'm at now and as odd as it may sound... I trust Iran FAAAARRRRR more than I do our supposed ally Saudi Arabia. Every time we turn around SA is funding who we are fighting. Almost all the 9/11 hijackers were SA's with funding from government officials. SA seems now to be funding ISIL... their Sunni brothers. SA is a bunch of lying backstabbers from anything I can see of their actions.

I'll agree with you that we should be disentangled from the ME, at least when it comes to intrigue, subterfuge, intervention, interference, regime change and any other destabilising policies. But perhaps it's for those very reasons that they feel a need to spread their "insanity" to Western democracies. In fact, in many various ways, they've articulated so.

And, stop practicing regime change on the powers that did indeed contain them.

Al Jazeera is Qatar based and funded,

Qatar is believed to have been one of the bigger funders of the group/s that became ISIS.
