How foreign fighters are swelling ISIS ranks in startling numbers

Main threat is that here around us might be a lot of jihadists and unfortunately we can never figure that out. Might be your doctor, your dentist, your teacher, your fire worker etc.

Fact is, ISIS can't be destroyed only with a military plan.

I think piling up all the idiots whom would risk their lives for a lost medieval cause within Islamic State may be a good idea. I do not see IS growing too rapidly with only 30k soldiers. Let this magnet to extreme Islamic religious freaks attract some more to their doom there.

As for countering their influence some critical thinking might help. According to latest news some 10 Albanian idiots lost their lives fighting for IS. Their status was "upgraded" to that of "Ebu" and some had changed their names! :doh

Consider that most from those numbers were gathered up from around the Europe, USA, Canada.
We do not know if all of its members have joined Syria or Iraq. There might be many others around the Europe or USAm doing that normal life as they were doing so far.

ISIS's fighters can't be tracked. There were many members from Kosovo. You never believed there would be any.

On a point, terrorists today are smarter. They come in West, start a good job, pay taxes, become a good citizen and after some years -> BOOM (they blow up a market)

That's true as well. They are recruiting many from the democracies and, as happened in Boston Marathon, they can contact those already here through a variety of means. The Democracies are fortunate in that, for now, they are largely gathered together in one place, providing we attack them quickly..

They are thinking long term while those living in the democracies are thinking election cycles, or feel they can unilaterally claim a war to be over and that's it.

Ever heard of Arid Uka?

The idiot was influenced from Islamic extremists to kill not other Islamic fractions like the other idiots whom died in IS. But they influenced him to... Kill our prime allies, the Americans!!!

This was way before IS. I had it extremely difficult to explain to our allies the very efficient penetration and brain washing techniques of Islamic religious people back then! They freaking turned a Dardanian Albanian (arguably the most pro-American people in Europe) into an American assassin!

Assassin of American soldiers at that too! You know, the ones that helped the liberation of Dardania a few years back!? It was perceived as a great scandal on our end! You had no one to turn to explain that he was an idiot that fell to extremist Islamic religious people!

Later his family made it clear on our local TV news that Arid was working on his own, that he made a terrible deed by killing "our brothers." The Prime Minister apologized on our behalf! While I asked for him to be transported to the prisons here in Dardania! The standards are lower than those in Deutcheland, so there is a greater likelihood that there may be more... "weekly accidents" in the prisons here!

But today the phenomenon of influencing across borders can be clearly observed. All sort of people coming from various European, American, Canadian (etc) countries, from different cultural and religious backgrounds are drawn like idiots to such influences. Now claiming that Arid Uka is just one of them is easier to claim than what was then!

Yes indeed!

On a wider scale it sounds like a way extremists deal with globalization. Extremists living in one culture and society that did not fit join other more comfortable niche's. It all revolves around freedom.

Those that need to be free from persecution, control, dogma, and other medieval influences idealize the west. Those in the west whom do not know hoe to deal with freedom seek out a tighter culture and are more easily controlled by such influences of IS, and join it.
