Well, we can always find someone else to make cheap electronics. It's not a skill unique to communist dictatorships.

Maybe you're right. Carpet bombing them into submission would be better. Only the oppressive government, of course, not the people. Kill the Castros and their buddies, then we will bomb them with freedom.

Besides, if we land too many troops there, the island would undoubtedly capsize.

I am calling for an embargo of other countries so I am not a hypocrite.

Also, the hypocrite label as a pejorative is over played. Changing a policy so that you are wrong across the board in order to end hypocrisy is just stupid.

That is like a parent who can no longer live with themselves due to the hypocrisy of teaching their kids not to smoke while they themselves smoke... so they buy their kids cigarettes.

You picked one country and labeled as oppressing it's people, so we need to embargo it. But you aren't willing to do it to China. Hypocrite much?

Cuba and Canada share a great feat in history, being two nations that have repelled American invasions, Canada twice. The US maintains a naval base there, against the wishes of the government, which seems like bullying to me. BTW, the base looks ****ing ridiculous from the land side, so much security makes it look like their afraid.

But what is it that America clings to in this new world order? This new age where she trades even with "Red China", Vietnam is now a friendly touristy destination, Russia and America share space missions, but little Cuba with beautiful tropics and sunsets to die for, is held with contempt to the point the US denies them medications and hospital supplies, refuses to buy her sugar, preferring instead to subsidize your local producers.

It makes no sense to me, nor the fact I get seriously screwed over trying to visit the US because I have Cuban stamps in my passport..."What they hell does any red blooded Canadian do on a tropical island officer? Try to get laid! The tan is automatic. Or do you think "commie" is contagious?"

Oh...and another thing? Their auto mechanics are the best in the world. They have 1940's cars running better than some of the new ones and they can't import parts for them, they have to make them.
"Canada and Cuba share a great feat..."

If the US invaded canada for some extremely mentally retarded reason today canada would be scraped.

As for our "invasion of Cuba"

yeeaaaaaahhh, we "truly" invaded them alright.

The US and EU have embargoes on China.

    Technology embargoes. Weapons specifically.

We won't even give China a tommy gun, that's how strict the weapons technologies embargo is. And we more or less forced the EU to follow suit.
