ISIS Beheads Steven Sotloff.....

It is convenient that you can create a dogma, then create a cop out to explain the dogma. Nice work if you can get it.

Metaphysical expression is a fraud, you hate it all. We get it. No one is allowed to discuss metaphysics or you get angry and irrational.

Sad.

Team BO has responded. If they are condemning.....you know the drill.

U.S. condemns apparent beheading of US hostage.....

The U.S. State Department says it is "sickened" by a video that purports to show the beheading of U.S. journalist Steven Sotloff, adding that the intelligence community is working to authenticate the video. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).....snip~

Yeah. I would prefer we say nothing. Not a peep.

Ideally, yeah, I agree. But inevitably we'd be criticized for "ignoring" it too. Something BO doesn't need/want with the midterms coming up. Ah, politics.

Also, SW Virginia, huh? Nice to see someone else representin', as the kids say.

Yep, your apologies for illogic are sad.

Everyone hates metaphysics at some point, most of us grow up.

Why doesn't the OT Christian god smite all these bad people? Is smiting no longer in vogue?

How does putting your ignorance on display seem productive? Are you wanting for someone to explain these concepts to you? It doesn't seem so.

Keep on ignorant ranting

Well, there's a reason I don't get to run things. But not saying anything does not equal ignoring it no matter the perception, but I suppose perception rules opinion, so...

Yeah. I'm rural, and we know what that means in SW. I started out in PA, stopped a few dozen other places here and over there, and ended up ri-chere.

.....they carried thru with the threat rather than chance of ransoming him. What say ye?

The Islamic State militant group released a video purporting to show the beheading of U.S. hostage Steven Sotloff, the SITE monitoring service reported on Tuesday.

A masked figure in the video also issued a threat against a British hostage, a man the group named as David Haines, and warned governments to back off “this evil alliance of America against the Islamic State”, the monitoring service said.

If you are not on official government business then stay the hell out of the middle east and other islamo-fascist countries, if you still choose to go despite all the warnings not to go then you are on your own. That is the only thing Obama should say on the issue.

I'm guessing zero. Hell, we declared a state of national emergency a few years ago when Singapore was going to flog some kid.
It's still anyone's guess. Heck, the US executes prisoners in gruesome ways, too.

"...At least 69 other journalists have been killed covering the war in Syria, and more than 80 have been kidnapped, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists. The group estimates that “approximately 20 journalists, both local and international, are currently missing in Syria,” it says on its website. “Many of them are believed to be held by Islamic State,” which ISIS calls itself...."

Most of the public probably wasn't aware that all those journalists were kidnapped and/or missing until Foley was beheaded.

I blame god.

He would never let people go and murder others in his name...would he?

I don't think he has much say in it does he ?

BTW I am an atheist

I think journalist need to stop going over to places like SYria and IRaq.

I agree.

International jouranlists, however, are in a very difficult career field. Aside from a handful of major net work superstars that make large amounts of money- Tom Brokaw is said to have chartered a private jet to report on the Tsunami, most reporters earn next to nothing.

The only way to get ahead is to get the stories. And for non CNN level reporters, that means taking chances with out body guards, "minders", and also means interviewing people who have not been pre screened and vetted.

These reporters can be pretty experienced with well thought out plans (Daniel Pearl). They also include complete amateurs like Amanda Lindhout, a cocktail waitress turned journalist who lasted three days in Somalia before getting kidnapped - fortunately not by jihaders, but by an Olde fashioned gang of extortionists and rapists.

You want to go to war with Mexico over a marine who crossed the Mexican border carrying firearms? Brilliant!
You honest to God believe the only leverage the President of the United States has is to go to war or even have to threaten to go to war?

Brilliant.

Not a very original question. Folks have been asking it for, oh, over 2000 years.

But back to the topic, executing journalists is cowardly. As deadly and barbaric as these jihadists are, they seem so juvenile too. I wonder if their flamboyant use of social media is going to unite the civilized world's opinion against them.

Just like you deal with cockroaches.

That's another problem with Islam - death to them is some sort of "reward."

So how do you deal with a bunch of wackos who think being martyred is some sort of reward?

The only way to deal with these nuts is to murder each and every single one of these radicals in as a brutal fashion anyone can think of.

These behaedings by ISIS are just like when Christians say there should be school prayer. Jon Stewart sez so.

Just like you deal with cockroaches.

I would seriously strap bombs to terrorists from GITMO and throw them out of airplanes at 20,000 feet over ISIS playgrounds er camps.

Hell, I would just throw some out of the plane just to see the reaction of the terrorists when they realize it's raining terrorists over their playground.

Of course the UN would object, but guess what? playing the "moral high ground" doesn't work - that philosophy is for snooty academics - some of which actually side with ISIS....
