Exactly. People shouldn't be allowed to say homosexuals are an abomination. That's just ridiculous.

As much as I dislike some things people say - be those things an abomination or not, restricting free speech isn't a good idea in any shape or form, for any group.
“I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on what’s being proposed here, he’d agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute.” - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

No, no, it's a great idea. So long as I'm the one who decides what speech is acceptable. If other people do that, it's tyranny.

    I get the sarcasm ...

It's ridiculous to say their actions aren't.

Would it have been a good idea for the Weimar Republic to have restricted the free speech of the Nazis?

I dunno. I suppose that people who wave their "white pride," flag are just as racist as these people here.......

Different country, different time, different circumstances.... in other words apples and oranges. Regarding the United States, it's clear that restriction of first Amendment rights shall not occur - regardless of the type of speech identified - exceptions are where such speech is unlawful and the classic "screaming fire in a crowded theater" comes to mind. No restriction shall occur. Once you single out a group regardless of who or what they are and restrict their speech, the founding of our laws, our country fail. The foundation crumbles. No thank you.

Are people actually "lured" into the KKK with candy?????

Kind of reminds me of this exchange from the movie "Office Space":

Peter Gibbons: What would you do if you had a million dollars?
Lawrence: I'll tell you what I'd do, man: two chicks at the same time, man.
Peter Gibbons: That's it? If you had a million dollars, you'd do two chicks at the same time?
Lawrence: Damn straight. I always wanted to do that, man. And I think if I were a millionaire I could hook that up, too; 'cause chicks dig dudes with money.
Peter Gibbons: Well, not all chicks.
Lawrence: Well, the type of chicks that'd double up on a dude like me do.
    Peter Gibbons: Good point.

In other words, can the KKK recruit with candy? Well sure.. but only the kind of people who would join the KKK in the first place.
