They're not the 'taliban' anymore. They've re-branded themselves 'ISIS' which I guess is diet terrorism.

Of course, if you suggest we start cutting burglars hands off, you could bring it up to the states.
    Taliban shoot robbers:

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Dec. 24 The Kandahar Sport Stadium is serene these days, its dusty brown field used by neighborhood boys for pickup games of soccer. Only the barest traces remain of the gruesome punishments meted out here by the Taliban in their archaic version of Islamic justice.

A metal goalpost is pierced with two bullet holes, a reminder of the dozens of people who were tied to it over the years and then shot to death for crimes of murder, robbery and prostitution.
    There you go.

Remember, you're the one who says shooting thieves is OK.
    Well, you and the Taliban.

    Well, you and the Taliban.

Is this to support some point that you've never elaborated on about using lethal force to protect property?

Then you'll need to connect a few more dots....in your example, the Taliban is using it as punishment, not prevention. Altho I guess it prevents it in the future. But it had nothing to do with the protection of anyone's property after the fact.

Once again differing sentences based on circumstances specific to a crime is commonplace.

They want to disarm cops, too.

Both decisions were good decisions. Police officers do not own the community. They work FOR the community, and the community is the boss, not them. I know that tensions have been running high in Ferguson, but if you threaten to kill people, then you do not deserve to wear a badge under ANY circumstances. End of discussion....... Or is it?

    Article is here.
Maybe if the cop had apologized. Cops are human beings. This situation is intense and it's hard on them. They have to stand there and try to contain a protest from turning into more looting and property damage, while being called every name in the book, being spit on and yelled out. I imagine it's hard to take.

I would've given the cops an opportunity to chill on suspension and attend some sort of short term therapy, because of the intense situation.

The cop who said they should be put down like rabid dogs was fired probably because he posted to social media. That's a bad idea in the midst of this sort of situation. He must've been young. The older ones don't resort to social media. They drink beer and vent with their friends and family....in person.

I may be totally off base (it wouldn't be the first time). If so, and it turns out that I am, I will declare such openly at that time and move on.
Loser pays solve these nuisance lawsuits. Disbarring the losing lawyers might help as well.

It's a DOD site in case you didn't look closely enough. I'd trust they know their own weapons. And I'd also note they quoted a rate of fire that can only be achieved with an automatic weapon. And if you looked at the PPT they also make grenade launchers available to law enforcement.
