I know. That's what I'm saying. There is no justice. If there was, that guys life would be nothing but one long string of misery from here on out.

I assure you that the cop that accidentally killed his police dog will feel that way--though he got pounded by righties for reasons I still can't figure.

I think the public is tired of these guys getting full pensions and compounded COLA to be paid by the very people he terrorized.

Lord knows how many times I've had to hear I don't deserve my pension and I'm in good standing with the law .

Do tell me what all us "righties" are like and why it's just inappropriate for us to give a damn about what happens to animals. I'm all ears.

I know. We'd be better of without all "these guys", wouldn't we? Although, can you really refer to automatons as "guys"?

Both decisions were good decisions. Police officers do not own the community. They work FOR the community, and the community is the boss, not them. I know that tensions have been running high in Ferguson, but if you threaten to kill people, then you do not deserve to wear a badge under ANY circumstances. End of discussion....... Or is it?

    Article is here.
    I agree.

I know what happened for everyone: tempers boiled over and everyone's a human. but officers on duty (especially) have to satisfy the demands of their station - it's written plainly in their contract and rulebooks.

Talking about "not deserving" of a badge. I sincerely have been wondering lately why anyone would even want to wear a badge. Most of the people they're "serving" and "protecting" wouldn't give one tiny rats ass if someone blew them away and certainly wouldn't do anything to prevent it even if they could.

Well yes - their job requires they deal with the riff raff. That doesn't mean they're permitted to stoop down to that level.

They're trained and paid to do a good job - not a slack job. If they act like the criminals and hte disturbers of the peace then what's the difference between the two?

Sadly I dont think the majority of cops in the country believe in that anymore. The old saying of "to serve and protect" has long since fallen into disuse, now its, "dont mess with us or you will be shot/tasered/arrested". Most cops now think they are no longer civilians and instead believe they are a paramilitary unit that can enforce the law however they see fit.

    With zero appreciation.

Oh you're right. They get paid so much that completely makes up for the contempt most people have for them. What gets me is there is apparently no minimum level conduct you all think cops should be treated with. Some guy spits on them, they better ****ing allow it with a smile because anything else is them being criminals themselves.

Incidentally, if posting something angry on social media is criminal conduct, there are a lot of criminals on this very forum (shoot, I break that law pretty nearly every day).

We're addressing two different things, here. You're trying to pretend as if it's all the same thing.

"Some people don't like cops" therefor "it's okay for cops to violate their basic guidlines of ethics and good behavior as a result"

    - See? The two aren't jiving for me.

I hear you. It's just too bad the cops mentioned in this thread did get what they really deserved. Like I said, any cop given to human emotion at all ever should be financially ruined at the very least.

It's not "some people" who don't like cops. It's most people.
