Sorry if I offended you. I was trying to say that if in fact some loon who disagrees with you actually thinks the cops and their families should be drug out into the street and bludgeoned they are on the fringe and stop holding everyone who disagrees with you accountable to the words of some whack job that would think such a thing. From my vast experience, if someone disagrees with something I've said, they're usually not shy about saying so. What was ridiculous exactly? I was told that nobody should care at all what happened to those two cops. That means nothing that happns to them should concern us no matter what. If their houses got firebombed tonight, according to Wiggen (at least), we should regard that with no interest or concern at all. How about Henrin saying that it would be better to watch a cop die than try to help. If you think my examples are ridiculous, like I have zero reason to believe people think that way, open your eyes.
Are you suggesting that doing this job objectively and keeping your emotions in check is impossible for them to achieve? I have more faith in them than that. I believe with the proper training reasonable standards can be established and achieved.I don't believe they should be held to impossible standards or expected to be super human. It would be nice if people wanted to equip them to deal with the stress of the job for the sake of the cop but I haven't seen anyone be interested in their mental health, just concern over how they can "serve" us.

It's horrifying because Trump is blunt instead of making overt implications.
- There was never a good war, or a bad peace.
- Idealistically, everything should work as you planed it to. Realistically, it depends on how idealistic you are as to the measure of success.
- Better to be a pessimist before, and an optimist afterwords.
I'd also like to know if there's a code of silence within PD's too. I have to believe there is because of all the corruption that was a pattern in Chicago, and some other cities.
