It would come largely in the form of humanitarian aid and cultural exchange.

With journalists and Christians being murdered and beheaded, as well as stringent entry rules to many of these countries, there might not be as many volunteer citizens available to exchange much of their culture. And as we have seen on many occasions, religion trumps culture. We've already given a great deal of humanitarian aid and often lost lives as a consequence.

But then that would cut Halliburton, KBR and all our defense contractors out of their much needed jobs.
How can you possibly prevent ISL from going anywhere?

Yeah, there'd be short term losses, it'sbwhat has to be done to make the long term gains. Religion doesn't trump everything, bit it's a good excuse and so long as we remain closed to each other, it can dominate. The west has been fighting in the ME for over 6 decades now, blowing things up and killing folk. You can't expect it to turn around on a dime.

The west has had an open border policy for a number of years, with limited restrictions, but this policy has not been reciprocated by many Islamic nations and, when it is, there is a risk to human life. Of course it is easy for me to make light of your suggestion while not offering one of my own, which is a cheap way to get a point.

I would say that was part of the role of the military both in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I think we first have to start telling the truth about the the dangers of Islam without concern of offending those Muslims who just want to get along. Until we open up and do that then we're all dancing in shadows.

I can tell you how it starts. Don't create environments that they become the beneficiaries of in the first place. But you've heard this all before. You're not pro American, as I once charged, on further observation, you're pro GOP and anti Democratic Party, or, a true partisan.

These labels are helpful to you, are they?

If a republican was in office then you might hear complaints about that policy but now there is an incompetent democrat in office, a danger to millions of people, so I'll criticize him and his supporters. That would seem to be the natural thing to do, no?

The problems have already started so what went wrong is rather beside the point now.

You'll likely have the opportunity next time around to prove you're not a GOPer partisan.

I don't have to prove anything.
