Oh, is that suppose to let Bush off the hook? He created the power vacuum in Iraq. Obama created one in Egypt, and one in Libya and he's working on Syria, so yeah he's made it worse to be sure.

Sad thing is, it didn't use to be like that. When I was in grade school in the 60's, I recall many teachers vacationing all over the ME during summer breaks. My wife and I were viewing some pictures the other day of Afghanistan in the late fifties. In one particular photo, there were several women in a library visiting and it looked just like a shot in Americana, they were in dresses, knee length, heels and hair up, with short sleeves and necklaces. A man in the back was in a suit. But the last four decades has blown that up. I'll likely never visit.

It IS HATE! Can you imagine for a moment if a country infinitely more powerful then us had been bombing us for two decades, killing tens or hundreds of thousands of civilians, with drones patrolling our skies blowing **** up all the time. Perhaps conducting regime change and installing a pro-Middle Eastern government. Jesus Christ, if people don't start figuring this out, we're going to get our asses hurt, and it won't be anything like 9/11.

It might sound cold, however when somebody goes to a **** hole like Syria they should sign a release form at the airport stating they know they are on their own if something like this happens.

She had no business being there in the first place.

The Obama administration doesn't do anything unofficially.

He couldn't get his back slapped if nobody knows about it.

What other President had to reset his policy in every theatre of Operations the US had?
For Pete's sake! I'm not defending Obama's policy in the ME. He has taken what George Bush broke and made it infinitely worse. Your problem is that you refuse to acknowledge that Bush broke anything. Watch, your response to this will be further denial that Bush screwed it up. However, most Americans now recognise that both his wars were a mistake. Perhaps you'll eventually acknowledge it too!

Actually, no. If you go backpacking in Iraq...we can't be responsible for your safety. If you make a mistake and end up outside our borders or outside our protection, I think there should be some recourse to help you. But if you decide to take a guided tour in North Korea and you are tried for crimes against the NK...then, you are on your own. We can't be mother henning every person out there.
We went from sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me to safe spaces.

I later worked with a man who was in that group of Guardsmen, and he talked about how bottles and bricks and bags of feces and urine were being thrown at them. We later learned that hard core professional agitators had been brought in, and they inflamed the students that were protesting the bombing of Cambodia by burning the ROTC building to the ground. Sadly, four students were killed and nine injured - the agitators shrewdly left when tear gas was used to disperse a crowd of about 600 people.. I understand that in 2010, 40 years later, the site was placed on the National Register of Historic places by Obama's Department of Interior, even though questions still remain unanswered.

What a sad legacy for a little town like Kent, Ohio. Like my parents and teachers used to tell us - if you don't want trouble, don't cause trouble, and stay away from those who do cause trouble. Good advice for every area of life, IMO.

    Greetings, Montecresto. .
Howdy Polgara! Are you saying you're against protests?
